I feel most must be tired of hearing about my oily skin and enlarged pores
but they are the bane of my existence (that and my huge ass...woe is me)
and I will try pretty much anything to disguise and hopefully conquer the problem.
Which leads me to sharing Clinique's newest Pore Solutions product - Clinique Pore Refining Solutions
Stay Matte Hydrator.
Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Stay Matte Hydrator is designed to not only give the appearance of
smaller pores but lightly moisturise the skin while keeping oil at bay for up to 8 hours.
It controls any surface shine and excess sebum production without leaving the skin feeling dry
or uncomfortable, it hydrates and strengthens the skin while refining and minimising pores.
Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Stay Matte Hydrator is a light gel which is very loose in consistency
and more akin to a serum than it is to a typical moisturiser.
I do have to be truthful and say that it has a strong alcohol scent and did sting my skin a little
the first time I applied it but it did not amount to anything - no redness or irritation.
This was a first time application only scenario as I have used it a good few times now
and it seems that my skin has grew accustom to it.
As soon as you apply it to the skin you have an instantly matte texture and pores do appear smaller,
it is a wonderful base to apply make-up on top off and kept oil at bay for around 5 hours
when used alone, when set with a powder it is closer to the 7 perhaps 8 on a good day mark!
I haven't been testing this long enough to fully comment on my pore situation
but I can say so far so good and it a great partner to Clinique's Pore Refining foundation.
I will of course continue to use this and report back in around a month or so.
Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Stay Matte Hydrator* 30ml/£32 - launches on the 3rd October
Looked at the ingredients and surprise surprise alcohol was 4th. Thats one ingredient I stay well away from, because in the long term it makes my skin oiler - had a massive problem with a clinique toner which was for oily skin and essentially alcohol :/
ReplyDeleteEep I knew I could smell it! I will stick with it for now and see how I get on but I didn't get on with the clariyfing toner either (step 3) so i'm a tad worried.
DeleteI was thinking exactly the same, especially as the Clarifying lotion sent my skin insane! However I am looking forward to trying the foundation and having a chat with the sales person on the counter about this lotion as in theory it sounds like just what I'm looking for, but don't they all!
Deletepore refining AND mattifying, ooh!
ReplyDeleteSophierosehearts x
Fingers crossed it works in the long run :)
DeleteYeah I agree with Georgia about the alchohol. Could be nice for a night out or something though. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I am a little worried but I will keep testing :) you never know eh :)
DeleteOooh this sounds right up my steet! Will definitely have to try!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your review in the future :)
DeleteI'll wait for your report next month with your impressions. I also have enlarged pores and haven't found what really helps with it. Let's see...
ReplyDeleteNo problem I will keep you updated :)
DeleteI tried this, with the rest of the range, and it sadly brought my skin out in blemishes. Confusing, as I am an avid user of the toner and daily scrub. I've found that the Witch anti-blemish tinted moisturiser is doing a fantastic job of making my pores smaller though.
ReplyDeleteI will say the instant perfector was amazing! I might try this again for christmas parties, see what happens.
