Sorry this is a little later than I would have liked but living in Scotland
means that we are often late to the party...that and my Yodel delivery man
doesn't seem to know what day of the week it is and often tries to give me other peoples parcels!
Anyway onwards and upwards and on to what's inside this months box
and my what a pretty multi coloured box it is!
Dr Bronners Pure-Castile Soap Pillows
I have tried the rose variation in the past and found the all-in-one formula
to be a fantastic brush cleanser.
I'm rather excited to try the citrus scent as I am a massive fan of anything fruity scented.
Phil Smith Revitalising Dry Shampoo
I have high hopes for this product as it smells rather lovely
and will be the perfect size for popping into my hand bag for a quick burst of freshness
or to add a little volume to my hair on the go!
So Susan Cosmetics Lip Cushion
This is the only product in the box I'm not all that excited about,
it feels, looks and smells cheap and reminds me of the lip products that are often attached
to young girls magazines but that being said I will give it a whirl and see how we get on!
So Susan Cosmetics Wide Awake Face Palette
On first inspection I rather like the look of this kit particularly the highlighting creams,
the eyebrow shades are a little odd both in colour and finish - metallic and in shades of plum and olive
but they can be used as eyeshadows so all is not lost!
The kit also contains slanted tweezers and a small brush.
Joliebox Cut by Fred Leather Hair Wrap
I won't be using this as a hair accessory but I will be attaching a few charms
and using it as a wrist wrap as it is the most beautiful deep maroon shade
that will be perfect for the upcoming Autumn season.
As with every box of late it came complete with a JolieMag and it was lovely to see
a fellow blogger featured - well done Estee :)
I will update with full mini reviews in a weeks time!
What did you think of this months box?
Joliebox* is a monthly subscription programme, you can find out more here - link
Looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe box is so cute :)
DeleteOh I'm looking forward to seeing your review on the dry shampoo. Box looks lovely xo
ReplyDeleteSo far so good :)
DeleteHey I didn't realise you're also Scottish! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe eyebrow shades are very strange, maybe it's a misprint and they meant eyeshadow? I love what you're going to do with the leather hair wrap, brilliant idea. I've never had JolieBox, I just get glossybox.
Haha yes born and bred :) hello fellow Scot :)
DeleteI agree I think you are very right, I quite like them as eyeshadows so
all is not a loss :)
I thought it was pretty poor on the whole! Totally agree about the lipbalm being like a magazine freebie! Here's my review if you're interested :) http://lardygrub.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/august-joliebox.html
ReplyDeleteSo glad I am not the only one :) I will read that tonight, thank you for the link :)
DeleteLooking forward to reading your reviews! The face palette looks interesting, I love how it comes with a brush and tweezers, but I do agree that the eyebrow sculptors are funny shades!

Thanks lovely :) I will have this up in about a week!
DeleteUsing the hair tie as a wrist wrap is such a great idea! I agree with you on the eyebrow shades, a little odd and shimmery ... but as you say, they can be used as shadows also so not all is lost! I didn't really like the look of the lip cushion as it DID look sort of... all sparkle and no substance, but on the website it states that it is made using aloe vera, beeswax and evening primrose oil, so hopefully there will be more to it than a little pot of pink glittery gel. I haven't tried it out yet but I must say I do like the scent! <3

Thanks lovely :) I agree but someone above thinks it may have been a mis print and should say eyeshadows which would make more sense regardless like you said they are pretty enough :). Ah really well that does sound like a good mix of natural ingredients, you must me let me know what you think when you do test it :)
DeleteThe palette is an exact copy of a Jelly Pong Pong one I read about a few days ago... :D
ReplyDeleteAh really, that's not really cool is it but thank you for letting me know :)
DeleteI have to agree withyou about Yodel, I have only ever found their service to be awful! And for that reason I will not be subscribing to Joliebox for the forseeable future. Thanks for letting me know they used Yodel so I can avoid!

Yodel are terrible, their idea of a safe place is in the middle of my front garden when we have a perfectly good porch...grr!
DeleteThis looks like a lovely box! I think Joliebox is such a tempting subscription although I don't personally subscribe to them (yet). I love the idea of using the hair accessory as a charm bracelet and the palette looks like such a cute product (metallic for the eyebrows though is slightly weird!). Like you've already said - that lip gloss looks like it's come off the front of Sugar Magazine or something... Still, looks like a lovely box :)

Sugar magazine that is exactly what I meant but couldn't think of the name haha! Random I know but I saw kiddy magazines in the supermarket today and they had full make-up kits with them! That did not happen when I was a kid haha!
DeleteJolieboxes always look so fantastic, i wish i could justify ordering one on my student budget!
ReplyDeleteNever mind when you graduate and have a big swish job you can afford all the sample boxes you can carry haha :)
DeleteI think this months box looks fantastic!

Em's Mixed Bag
I'm quite enjoying it this far :)
DeleteI initially had such high hopes for the eye palette, but I could not get any sort of depth of colour from the eyebrow powders, so there's no hope at even using them for shadows. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has much luck with them. x
ReplyDeleteAh no :( that sucks! I really thought they might have worked as eyeshadows so now they are useless, I agree it will be interesting to see how others get on. Thanks for letting me know :)
DeleteNice, I love Castile Soap, have a large bottle in the shower.
ReplyDeleteWhat scent is your favourite? :)
DeleteNice the palette, it looks cute! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Silvia :)
DeleteMy August box hasn't arrived yet *siiiigh*. Like the look of these products though! x
ReplyDeleteInteresting box, the dry shampoo looks great :)
ReplyDeleteSophierosehearts, currently having an 100 follower giveaway! x
Such a good idea for the leather string! Really was so baffled when i got mine x
ReplyDeleteSee my review at http://laurenjadem.blogspot.co.uk
I got this jolie box too, but found that the eyebrow sculptor was useless, half off it fell off onto my face when applying :( not a good look haha, I did love the dry shampoo though!what a saviour on a bad hair day xxx
