Yep it's that time of the month where I give you a quick peep into the Glossybox
that has pretty much just landed on my door step.
Of course this is just my initial impressions I will update in a week or so with a review
of each product inside.
This months box is dubbed the International Superstar box which couldn't really come at a better
time with the recent Olympic Games, I'm rather sad that it's over for another 4 years!.
The box contains 6 items from various corners of the globe most of which apparently have cult status
in their native land - if you hail from any of the countries mentioned below do let me know what you think
of said items and if they are in-fact must haves.
Alessandro (Germany) - Pro White
This is an optically brightening nail polish that counters any yellow tones of the nails
from polish staining and other mishaps.
I'm looking forward to putting this to the test.
DHC (Japan) Deep Cleansing Oil
This claims to be the best make-up remover I have ever tested.
With big claims like that it better not break me out or I will be rather cheesed off!
That aside it reminds me of Detol which is one of my favourite scents in the word...yep I'm odd.
Broadway Nails (USA) imPress Press-On Manicure
I've tested the imPress nails before in different design,
they are pretty fun but not as long lasting as they claim.
This time around I have 170 Velvet Rope which is a lovely purple set
that I am looking forward to applying.
Vera Valenti (Spain) L'ombre a Puapiere Margarita
Truthfully I'm not all that impressed by this inclusion,
I know for a fact that this palette or the other shade options are cult products in Spain.
You can and I have found this brand in little knick knack stores in tourist areas in Spain.
Lipcote (UK)
I quite like Lipcote and use it on nights out to avoid constant touch ups,
not so long ago Lipcote had an image over haul gone is the red accents and in is the golden touches
with a new hint of Vanilla to the scent.
Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink
The last item in the box is an additional product and a gift, 6 products instead of 5 this month!
I can't wait to wear this shade it reminds me a little of Mac's Modesty lipstick
only it was free haha!
Glossybox* is a monthly subscription service find out more here - link
I got exactly the same palette and was not impressed! Great blog :)

I think that is the general feeling, not the best eh! Aww thank you :)
Deletehaha lipcote is amazing I love that stuff, I don't get any beauty boxes I'd rather spend the £10-15 a month on something I'd really like x
ReplyDeleteHaha me too :) aka illamasqua ;) haha!
Deleteyeah I've heard a lot about the DHC oil - just don't know if I could put oil on my already oily skin? Let us know how it goes! x
ReplyDeleteI struggle with that too, I've done it before and had great results but it's the thought I really can not get on board haha :)
Deletelove your posts :)

Thank you so much :)
DeleteI cannot believe Glossybox put a Vera Valenti product in one of their boxes.... I´m spanish and I used to buy V. Valenti products when I was 13 and I could´n afford expensive makeup!! Those products are sold in 1 euro shops!!!!
ReplyDeletexx
Yep that's exactly where I saw it, it's most certainly not a cult product in any sense. Thank you for clarifying, most appreciated :)
DeleteI got the same as you apart from my eye shadow palter was green!! Going straight in the bin! x

Uh oh! At least you are honest :)
DeleteI'm definately not impressed this month with my box. I got the same as you. I've already got the impressnails.. In the same colour.. And they are too short for my natural nails! Fail!
ReplyDeleteAlso the eyeshadow is naff. Its so cheap and nasty I couldn't even open it without chipping a nail.
I'm hoping everyones boxes are as bad as this.
Love the blog tho.x
Oh no :( hopefully you'll have someone to pass them on to?
DeleteI agree it really does look like something from the 80's haha!
From what I have seen the only variant is that some boxes have a balm in place of the lipcote. Aww thank you :)
My box has a balm in place of the nails. Everything else is the same though. My eyeshadow is green and brown but still cheap and nasty.
DeleteI've used the DHC oil and it really works well. Kinda reminds me that I should order some more! Interested to know what you think!
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of it but I'm not an oil fan sadly!
DeleteI will let you know what I think but if it breaks me out etc I will happily send it your way :)
im not sure about it!

I kinda feel the same, I like some of the products the rest are rather meh!
DeleteThis is like the 3rd disappointing box I have received now. The eyeshadows were awful and my lipstick was broken(a lot of people have had this problem).
ReplyDeleteHonestly this has confirmed my decision in cancelling my subscription...then again whenever I say that, the next one is a really impressive box.
The concept was great, it's just a shame they couldn't pull it together. There have been some great boxes before.

This looks like a really well balanced box! A bit of everything, I'm liking the pro White nail formula, maybe not the palette so much

I got the brown/green palette, it's so cheap and tacky looking, like something from the 80's! Not pleased with this month's box, cancelled my subscription!
ReplyDeleteThe palette looks so cheap, I mean I'm not against affordable products (thank God there are) but I don't like things that look not so good quality.
ReplyDeleteCould you show some swatches of the palette, so I can see better?
P.s: what a cute shade for the lipstick!
xoxo
So cute!!! I love the whole glossybox idea. This looks so much better than BirchBox which I stopped subscribing to.
ReplyDeletelooks like an awesome box! haven't tried any of these products before...all look very interesting though! gigi. food and beauty blogger @ www.gigikkitchen.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteAnd the Dutch box has not even been dispatched yet:( I should be writing about it on my blog as soon as it arrives so if you would like to compare the boxes, you are welcome to check back soon. i llove the scent of Dettol as well!
ReplyDeleteI find Vera Valenti products at most French street markets. They usually sell for a EURO. The packaging even looks cheap. I'm severely disappointed and have cancelled my subscription. I didn't get the nails, I has a 1ml sample of Valentina. :o(
ReplyDeleteI was so unimpressed with this months box. I've had enough of Glossybox now, I rarely get something that I really like and having just found a flat to rent, I'd rather keep that £10 a month for my bills or things I need.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the palette! But I love the theme of this months box and can't wait to get mine :) xx
ReplyDeletehttp://sophiaxblog.blogspot.com
Humm... I think Vera Valenti is not our grate makeup brand :S
ReplyDeleteWhat's Lipcote? Something to make lipstick last longer?
Lipcote is exactly that you apply it on top of lipstick and it seals it :)
DeleteI got the same box except I had the brown/ green eye shadow palette. Not impressed with that.
ReplyDeleteThe pro white stuff is quite good, if a little odd. It obviously contains something that reflects natural UV light as it gives your nails a slightly purplish/ blue tint close up. My nails definitely look less yellow although I wouldn't say they are exactly white. I'm impressed with that and the lipstick, the rest of it will be getting very scathing reviews from me!
I would love if Glossybox would ship to Romania too!:X:X:X
ReplyDeleteI loe the packaging of the box but the only thing I would like to ty is the DHC oil.
