Although "blessed" with very thick hair it does have a tendency to hang a little flat,
I'm guessing this is down to the weight so I like to use volume boosting products to give my
lank hair a little added va- va- voom (who recalls those adverts? Renault Clio was it not?).
In the past I have mainly used dry shampoo's to create and tease in a little volume
and I have had a little dabble with other volume boosting powders but I found them
all to be a little heavy and despised the product build up on my hair and scalp!
I bought V05 Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder on a sheer whim while at the supermarket,
more than likely it would have been on offer...that always seems to reel me in.
Truthfully I recall lifting the little pink tub and thinking that won't last any length of time
as the pot is pretty dinky and only contains 7g of product but after my first couple of usages
my mind was put at ease and I knew that perhaps like myself good things come in small packages haha!
Jokes aside the small stature of this product makes it idea for chucking into a handbag.
To use you simply shake the powder, remove the lid and dispense a small amount into the palm of your hand, then sprinkle on to your scalp and tease in some volume using your fingertips.
Unlike other products I have used in the past this does not leave the hair with a gritty coating
as is instantly absorbed but with a lovely light aquatic scent, which is great as white powder products and a dark hair colour haven't always went hand in hand.
I find any root volume achieved lasts around 3 hours but you can boost any fledging volume simple by
run your hands through your roots and teasing again any time you feel necessary without adding more product. If used daily I do recommend using a good deep cleansing shampoo to remove any product build up once a week!
V05 Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder 7g/£4.07 via Boots - link
but do shop around as you will more than likely find it on offer somewhere (Asda, Superdrug etc)
This looks intresting to try!

It is :)
DeleteThis looks pretty promising. I have been on a lookout for volumising powders like this but there are so many on the shelves that i really do not know which one to pick. I am quite scared of using these because i have really dark hair and i dont want it to make it look ashy or that i have a grey patch when i use it lol. Maybe one day i will give these texturising powders a try, although i don't think i will finish the whole tub because theres so much product in it and you only use a little bit each time. Thanks for the review, it was really helpful :)

Oooh, will have to check this out! I tried the Got 2 Be Volumising Powder but hated the texture of it - it was so gritty on my hair and left a really thick coating that was difficult to brush through! I hated the feeling so much I washed my hair straight afterwards because it just felt so horrible! That kind of put me off volumising powders, but might be brave and give this one a go LOL! xx

Great post! I've been on a lookout for a hair dust that doesn't make my roots look grey!!! Thank you.

ah I am so glad that you have shown a dusting powder thats available on the high street for a reasonable price. I have been searching high and low yet all the ones I have come across have been fairly expensive and as something I would only use probably on a night out (which is a rarity :-)) I do not want to fork out massive of cash. I shall def keep an eye out for this! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for extra volume... may have to pick this up when I'm next browsing Boots!x
ReplyDeleteRead your review at lunchtime and have just picked up some of this in Sainsbury's. Will look forward to trying it tomorrow
