Summer is pretty much hell on earth for my skin, my oily skin is shiny at the best of times
despite every attempt known to man to control the shine factor so any product that can help reduce
excess oil, unclog pores and mattifies the skin is also welcome on my bathroom shelf!
Newly launched is Normaderm by Vichy which claims to do all of the above.
Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser, Scrub and Mask is of course a multi purpose product that you can use in three ways depending on what feels best for you and your skin type. The texture is very much cream based, thick but easy to apply without making too much of a mess and contains tiny little gritty exfoliant pearls, scent wise it is pretty typical of a facial product and has a light aquatic fragrance which is pleasant.
Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser, Scrub and Mask is aimed at sensitive skin types but suitable for all.
At the moment my cleanser and current scrub are working rather well and I have been blemish free
for close to three weeks so rather than play with fire I have been testing this as a mask/hot cloth cleanser.
As a mask I apply this twice a week Monday and Thursday evenings, I do so by dispensing a generous
blob and spreading over my entire face avoiding the eye area. It only takes 5 minutes to dry out so I suggest
lighting a scented candle and popping a slice of cucumber on each eye to make full use of the relaxing treatment. It is up to you how you remove the dried out mask but I suggest using a hot, muslin cloth
as it removes the mask with such ease and is fuss free.
After immediate removal (and after I have dried my face), I noticed that my skin looked radiant,
fresher and had a natural matte look effect. Not to mention it cleansed deep down without aggravating my skin, no purges thus far and I have been using the Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser, Scrub and Mask for close to a month. My oil hasn't fully been resolved but that is partly to blame on the humid weather, what I will say is that my t-zone has improved significantly so there is hope for the rest of my face. The matte result is only temporarily but my pores do look clearer and in my opinion have shrunk ever so slightly.
Have you tried Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser, Scrub and Mask?
Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser* RRP £11.00
Available from Independent Pharmacies from July 2012 and Boots nationwide from mid August 2012
I used the normaderm cleanser and didn't seem to find it did anything to my skin apart from make it feel a bit dry, my spots didn't get better or worse.. xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a little disappointing to hear but I guess i've had products like that in the past too so I understand. I have blemish prone skin and use Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit wash and it really helps perhaps try that?
DeleteIts a really good price, I like vichy its sort of that mid ground product, not so high street but not too upmarket. I will try this one. Good to have in a small bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree i'm definitely going to explore the brand further :)
Deleteand yes space savers are always welcome in my tiny bathroom too haha!
Did you buy Essence My Skin Mattifying Cream? it's awesome to keep your face matte for 12 hours, I tried. But it only works if you use it alone or with their tinted moisturizers. I tried using other BB Creams and foundations, it'll only keep your face matte for less than 6 hours.
ReplyDeleteSadly not Essence is one of the few brands I have no access to unless I go abroad but next time I do I shall pick it up and let you know my thoughts :)
DeleteHelpful review. I've been eyeing up this line but hadn't heard anything about it and was hoping I might find a review. Cheers! I'm pleased it's an effective product too. Have a wicked Olympic weekend! X
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the review :) yes you too!
