that I am about to share but my current skin situation to blame for my lack of luck.
I have been using everything in my power to keep oil at bay and trust me it is an up hill struggle!
If it would be of interest to anyone I could rustle up a post about surviving the balmy months with oily skin?
Anyway on to what has not been working for me lately...
False Eyelashes - ALL BRANDS!
I have been struggling to get false eyelashes to sit properly on my lids for a good few weeks,
in the past I could pop them on in one swift move and they stayed put until I wanted to remove them
yet the last few weeks I have been having no luck, they seem to slide off or sit lopsided regardless of
the brand of the lashes or adhesive...for now I give up!
17 Wild Eye Metallic Eye Mousses
For the longest time I have been using 17 Wild Eye Mousses as a base for powder eye products
but lately they have been slipping and creasing like nobody's business as I was such a fan in the past
once again I am going to blame the balmy weather and try again when I am less oily...yuck I know!
17 Instant Glow Bronzing Powder L.E Union Jack Design
This was such a stunningly beautiful palette before I swirled a brush and removed the over spray the result
was a lack lustre mid toned bronzer that did next to nothing for my skin tone.
FashionistA Blushing Coral Blush
I have no issues with the formula or colour pay off but it irks me to the core that this is listed as a Coral shade when it clearly is a shocking pink hue. Note to self late night internet shopping is nearly always fatal.
Morrisons Bedtime Baby Wash
I am obsessed with bed time products but compared to the brand leader this one is pretty shoddy,
I understand that it is aimed at babies but that doesn't excuse that this has left me feeling sticky
and far from clean.
What products have you been body swerving this month?
Great idea for a post!- My meh product/s are...Dare i say it but, My HD Brows pallet. I used to love it, but i feel like all it does is colouring my already dark brows. I just stepped back one day and realised that i was using it for the sake of having it, and although bold brows maybe the new best thing. It makes me look weird. I now just define using my trusty black/brown Rimmel brow pencil where needed.
ReplyDeleteMy Chanel Perfection Long Wear foundation is being shelved. It doesn't sink into my skin, it moves about and if i'm having a greasy day it makes my skin look even more greasy than it normally would. Another product i thought i liked, used because it was 'cult' but deep down think is a pile of poo poo!
I'd love to see a post on keeping oily skin under control in the heat, I'm having the same problems with even my tried and trusted products just not cutting it at the moment!!

17 Wild Metallics are weird for me, I actually have quite dry skin around my eyes and the eyeshadow creases within the hour! xx
ReplyDeleteAlso this may sound odd, but apparently using olive oil is actually good for oily skin, as it can make your body stop producing excess oil of it's own... like I said I have dry skin so I don't know if it works, but I do know olive oil works wonders as a hair treatment haha xx
DeleteI'd LOVE to see a balmy weather/oily skin survival post!!
ReplyDeleteI've also been having issues with my falsies recently, I think you're right about it being the weather plus an oily skin thing... xoxo
Such a great post! Its always great to see things to/not to buy!

Very pretty color blush!!
ReplyDeleteYou really did get amazing stuff!
ReplyDeleteI think you should give the false lashes another chance. What you apply them over makes a huge difference. I always have Urban Decay Primer Potion, a MAC paint pot/Maybelline Eye Color Tattoo as a base, and at least a colour wash of eyeshadow over. I also use MAC Fluidline or any gel eyeliner that is smudge resistant. I hold my lashes in one hand and apply DUO glue to lash band. Then I put a small blob of glue on that same hand holding lashes and I use a disposable liner to apply glue on my eyeliner (while looking downwards in a mirror). Then I apply my lashes over the glue that I applied over my liner. This seriously helps them stick. Make sure you wait at least 30-60 seconds (depending on how much glue you used) to let it get tacky, so it will stick upon contact. Some people use too much glue and do not wait long enough for the glue to get tacky. Honestly, having eyeshadow base and gel liner makes all the difference, as well as applying glue directly to my lash line helps keep them there (even in 30*C+ humid weather).
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about the Eye Mousses!
ReplyDeleteI find I use completely different products in the summer as my skin changes too.
was going to try the eye mousses, glad i didnt bother now!
