Another Sunday, another stash...
No eye products this week, I've been ignoring eyeshadow and liner other than for testing purposes
and been favouring a plain look with a simple slick of mascara.
I often go for this kind of look this time of the year, sometimes eyeshadow etc feels like too much!

Cheeks
The week past saw me test quite a few cream products for the cheeks and lips
and it has given me the taste for more
so this week I have included two cream type blushes.

Mac Optimistic Orange Cremeblend Blush
Scary in the pan but beautiful stippled on, I like to apply this sparingly so I have a light almost peach
glow rather than full on orange cheeks but that can be achieved pretty easily with this blush if you wished.
I can see me reaching for this quite often and it may make it into my holiday travel bag!
Bobbi Brown Rouge Pot in Powder Pink
If you like your pinks muted and with a hint of pink I can not recommend this enough.
This can be used on the lips and cheeks and unlike some multi-purpose products it works
just as well on the lips and cheeks also it is well pigmented, a little goes a long way
as you can see my pot has hardly been dented and I have used it well in the past.
Mac Light Flush MSF
Admittedly this is one of the better pigmented MSF's that have been launched
and some have used this as a blush but with my skin tone it is a highlight - a rusty warm pink highlight
that works best with warmer toned blushes.
Lips
This week I have tried to dig out products that have been neglected and selected a range of shades.
MUA Lip Boom in OK.Com
I'm not going to pretend that I am going to use the lip gloss end because I'm not it's gritty
and not to my personal taste but the other end of the duo is a light matte nude that works really well
with a pink gloss.
Maybelline Extreme Moisture Lipstick in Dessert Bloom
This is a pinky brown shade that may look a little odd on paler skin tones
but it works really well on medium to deep skin tones, that aside the extreme moisture formula
is completely amazing and one that I highly recommend checking out next time you are near
a Maybelline stand.
FashionistA Lipstick in Natural Pink
A lovely natural pink with a yellow undertone that I really need to wear more,
it wears really well, is comfortable and has a lovely glossy finish.
One thing I have noted is that people always comment on how plump my lips are when I wear this
so if you have thin lips this may be worth investigating?
Molton Brown Pep-Rich Lip Booster
My lips need all the help they can get at the moment,
all the product testing has left them dry and uncomfortable
so I will use this before applying any lip colour!
So that is this weeks choices, have you shopped your stash recently?
I really want to swatch those blushers through the screen. So pretty! I actually unintentionally, shopped my stash this week. I feel like I should post about it at some point because it's not something I've ever properly done. :) x
ReplyDeleteThat orange Mac blush is gorgeous! I agree with the minimal make up at this time of year, I always feel really over done and sort of 'cakey' otherwise :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I like Desert Bloom or not. It's really similar to my lip colour and I have to mix it with others to get a good result. I think Maybelline lipsticks are awesome though xx
ReplyDeleteLovely purchases, I like all of the shades!
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of Mac Light Flush MSF!!

I was so unimpressed with MUA Lip Boom (you can read my review here) really poor quality and just did not work well on my lips at all.

I don't really buy MUA products. Only product I have from the range is the heaven and earth palette!
ReplyDeleteI have four Bobbi Pot Rouges, and I love them... I realized I haven't chosen one for some weeks! I'll go for them now! XD
ReplyDeleteI also have an orange creme blush, but Nyx one. I prefer red-pink-mauvey shades, but I'll give it another try.
Lippies... I'm now on the red-cherry-mauvey ones... Ellis Faas L201-L203 and L207 were my best friends last week (L207 is mlbb for me). This week Evilshades Devilista and pot rouges should be the chosen ones :)
This is a nice selection :) This time of year it's all about lips and blush rather than eyes and foundations!

Beautiful blush! I recently splurged and bought Chanels universal bronzer, loving it so far!
ReplyDeleteI am also loving Illamasquas new naked rose blush from their new collection, its such a perfect nude blush!
