I can I was 19 and going through a phase of channelling Gwen Steffani - white blonde hair, lots of black liner
and bright red lips, my lipstick of choice was Barry M and to this day it is still one of my favourite red shades.
Today I have another red lipstick to share however this one is a little superior and by the luxury brand Sisley.
The packaging of the Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick line is beyond luxurious.
First of all the actual lipstick bullet is adorned with waves and stamped with the Sisley logo,
the lipstick case is beautiful - a gold and black work of art that you will want to show off
with the cherry on top it being that it comes with a sleek black velvet pouch to store it in...oh la la!
Aesthetics aside the lipstick and case are well constructed and feel very sturdy.
Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in L25 (sorry it has no full shade name) is a bright true red
which has a strong blue undertone, great for making teeth appear whiter than they actually are.
For me this shade screams old school glamour and is prefect for those who want to inject a little
retro beauty into their lives, the shade does run a little cool but my personal opinion is to ignore
undertones and wear what you feel good in not what others dictate you should wear!
The formula of the Hydrating Long Lasting Lipsticks is simply lovely,
they glides on like a gel and instantly feel hydrating with contact of the lips.
The colour pay off is great, one quick slick is all you need for full pigmentation.
It is light, comfortable and moisturising all in one quick application.
The sculpted bullet makes for easy application meaning you can skip using a brush if you so wish.
As with any bold lipstick I do recommend using a lip liner to prevent the colour bleeding.
The formula doesn't highlight any dry patches or any fine lines.
In terms of wear I found the formula to last just over 4 hours with ease
so great for anyone who doesn't have time to constantly touch up their lipstick
also as this is a red shade once the lipstick has worn off it leaves behind an stain prolonging wear further.

ReplyDeleteThis colour is so beautiful, wow... I also love the packaging, but it's acutally so pretty that I wouldn't want to use it for fear of destroying its prettiness, haha.
