Nautical is one theme I can not pass up on,
I would have been a sailor had it not been for my non existing sea legs and sea sickness!
Irony is a cruel mistress.
Any way one of Mac's newest limited edition collections is the swashbuckling nautical theme Hey Sailor!
As much as I love all things sea based not much really jumped out to me from the collection
but I do have a few pieces to share, commencing with a lipstick called Salute!
Salute! is an odd shade to describe Mac list it as a "Neutral Peach"
but it is a little too bold and stark to be deemed neutral in this case.
It is very much a peach but slightly whitened and has an over all milky effect
that you will either love or hate.
It reminds me of NYX Orange Soda lipstick so if you are looking for a cheaper alternative
this may well be your best bet.
Mac Salute! is an amplified finish which I find to wear slightly better than most Mac formulas.
I typically get 3-4 hours of wear from each application but do find the formula to be a little drying.
Salute! has a light sheen and although the formula is opaque and full coverage,
I found it to apply a little streaky and settle into lines and dry patches.
Product Summary
Round Up - A bright milky peach lip shade.
Best For - Fans of this type of shade family.
Pigmentation - (7/10) good but does apply a little patchy.
and Mac counters. £14/3g
I love these peaches on you A, so flattering with your skin tone.

ReplyDeleteI was going to skip Hey Sailor, but it is starting to grow on me.I like Orange Soda, but it is too thin and not pigmented enough. I hope Salute will be better :3

ReplyDeleteI've been going back and forth on whether or not I like/want this color. I was going to order it tonight, but by the time I got back from dinner, it was sold out. Probably for the best, since these shades always look awful on me, no matter how hard I try to make them work!
ReplyDeleteHey love your blog. I just wanted to make a note. I have nyx orange soda and while it gives the same overall look (very 60s pale lips) orange soda is much darker peach. I love orange soda, it was my favorite pale lip until i bought salute, but salute is defiitely a paler pale lip
