The one thing that gets me most excited about any new collection is the blushes,
I am a complete blush fiend and love nothing more than adding to my blush collection.
Mac Hey Sailor came with two new shades and I of course had to have both,
how could I say no to such pretty shades that came so wonderfully packaged?
Mac Launch Away blush is described as a true peach,
and I very much agree in pan form it is a light peach with a yellow undertone.
In pan form it reminds me of Mac Immortal Flower however when swatched/applied
it turns to a bright candy pink on my skin tone which I find really odd.
I like the pink hues it pulls but prefer my blushes to not preform magic shade tricks on me.
I do feel this shade has the potential to lean chalky on deeper skin tones
but a great option for light skin shades.
Mac Launch Away is a satin formula blush which is not matte in formula
well supposedly anyway, in my opinion this is as close to a matte blush
as you can get...I can see nor find any shimmer present!
I found the formula to be fairly light and well pigmented.
In terms of wear I on average get just around 6 hours of wear from a Mac Satin
formula blush and do not find them to be unflattering on skin that has faults
such as fine lines and enlarged pores.
So what do you think of this shade?
Odd that it translates to pink or pretty cool?
Mac Launch Away Blush £18/6.5g available for a limited time from Mac counters

Oh wow, this looks so pretty. I love the packaging also, a trip to Mac is needed lol.

ReplyDeleteI have a couple of MUA and Barry M in my list ;)
Oh I feel your pain haha :) oh fab I can't wait to see :)
DeleteGorgeous! I really want the 2 blushes from this collection.

I hope you get them :)
DeleteThe swatch look so different from the blush in the pan!
ReplyDeleteSo odd isn't it!
DeleteI've never seen a blush before that looks peach in the pan and turns out pink. I like it, it's different.. plus the final shade is lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteMe neither, to be honest I was quite annoyed initially haha :)
DeleteI see what you mean about changing colour! It does look a really pretty feminine colour on the skin though! x

I honestly thought I had a dud to begin with!
DeleteIt looks completely different when swatched, but i still think it's such a pretty colour! <3
ReplyDeleteI can't wait till this collection comes to US. I'm doing a giveway by the way. Please enter if you can. xx
ReplyDeleteshouldn't be too long for you guys now :)
DeleteI love the look of this blush in the pan, but it seems rather generic when swatched... this may be one that I need to check out in person and see if it swatches pink on me too! I can't believe another collection is coming out already! haha I'm always saying that tho... =)

I actually completely agree with everything you have said, it is nothing special and what is with all the collections?
DeleteThis is actually a much prettier colour on the skin than it looks in the packaging, it looks a bit pinker on :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you think so :) I kinda think I would have preferred it to be peach haha :)
DeleteThat's really strange that it changes colour - with a face product that's a massive hindrance to people, especially as a lot of MAC is bought online. Does it state in the description it changes colour?! Love the pack though, cute and quirky without the usual pinch of vulgarity you get with MAC.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree it is not on that it doesn't state that it changes colour. Initially I thought it was just my skin tone or I had a dud but nope they are all like this. Agreed the packaging is just the right side of cute :)
DeleteI think it's very pretty - I think I'll pick it up myself too!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex :)
DeleteI'm really disillusioned with MAC as they've gone from not testing on animals to now testing on them! I think it's disgusting that a company can just change their mind and go backwards, so at this rate I'm not going to be buying any of their overpriced stuff soon! Ha, rant, sorry x
ReplyDeleteHaha no need to apologise I truly enjoy reading everyone opinions good, bad and indifferent :)
DeleteGorgeous colour! I am waiting for the realese of the collection here in Sweden..
ReplyDeleteHope the wait isn't too long :)
Deletei cannot begin to tell you how excited i am to buy these products!!!!
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about this potentially going chalky. I can imagine it now.
