which is actually their first ever liquid foundation...very exciting!
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation took 3 years to create
and comes in 9 shades which is provides decent enough variety wouldn't you agree?
So was it worth the wait? Read on to find out more... I'm such a tease!
As you can probably tell from the photographs I currently only have a sample (try before you buy)
but the packaging for the full size bottle doesn't differ at all,
it is simple transparent bottle which allows you to easily see how much foundation you have left -
no more waking up in the morning to find you have ran out.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation also have a pump function
which is a god send with foundation as it allows you to dispense it with such ease and minimises waste.
"Hello…it’s flawless time!
Our new oil-free brightening liquid foundation builds from light to medium coverage
for a natural complexion you can believe in.
It’s you…just more luminous & healthy looking."
As you have gauged from above this is an oil free formula that provides a light-medium coverage
that also contains an SPF 25 to help protect your skin against environmental damage and sun rays.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation provides a natural coverage while hydrating the skin,
it also hydrates as it covers making it ideal for dry skin types.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation is pretty thin and loose in consistency
and very much a liquid which took a little getting used to as I tend to buy gel foundations.
It has a light "make-up" type scent that is not offending or strong nor do you notice it once worn.
How you apply the foundation is of course up to you but I found that as it is a liquid and a loose one at that,
I got the best coverage when applied with my fingertips but of course that is just preference!
I have shade "I'm So Money" Honey which is approximately an NC25/30 in Mac
so it is a little to light for my NC37ish skin tone but not so much so that I couldn't warm it up with a bronzer
however when the time comes to buy a full size bottle I will buy a shade or two up.
On the skin this feels so light and hydrating and covers really well for a light to medium coverage level
as you can see from my before and after photos using my mole as guidance.
It applies really well and blends like a dream with next to no work.
As it has an SPF25 it makes it a great choice for all us city girls but perhaps not the best for flash photography - hello flash back a.k.a white face brown body.
My only grumble is that it wasn't as long wearing as I would have liked
but I do suffer from oily skin that only gets worse as the weather heats up so that will have contributed
to the shorter than usual wear time - un-primed/set this wore for 6 hours, primed/set just over 7.

Heads up, just so you know, it's not actually their first liquid foundation, they're mis-selling that information.
ReplyDeleteYou can see via the comments on my own post; http://eightforawish.com/2012/03/29/benefit-hello-flawless-oxygen-wow-liquid-foundation-review-shade-believe-in-me-ivory/
An ex-BeneBabe confirms this, also I've been told on Twitter by a current BeneBabe that it's a wee lie by Benefit.
Still, the foundation itself is fantastic. I own the full size in Believe In Me Ivory and I love it.

Just wanted to say I agree with this I have a bottle of Benefit Non Fiction liquid foundation. It used to be my holy grail foundation before they discontinued it.
DeleteOhh err how very naughty of Benefit ;) haha thank you for letting me know though :)
DeleteI thought that myself when they said it was their 1st liquid foundation but talked myself out of it by telling myself I must be getting confused with you rebel etc? Oh well at least I know i'm not going crazy haha :)
Such a shame it doesn't last longer. Longevity aside i hope the shades go light enough for me because it does look like a good product.
ReplyDeleteDo keep in mind I am oily skinned :) the lightest shade they have is ivory and from what I recall it is really pale :)
DeleteThis looks like such a good foundation! I have very pale skin and I am fairly young (teenager) and new to the world of foundations since i have used tinted moisturiser but now I am looking for something heavier, would this be a good choice?
ReplyDeleteHi Holly :) yes this would be ideal for you as you probably don't want nor need heavy coverage another light weight foundation that is more budget friendly is Borjoius Healthy Mix Serum :)
DeleteCan;t wait to try it!

I hope you get to check it out soon :)
DeleteI love your blog posts but do you think maybe you could sometimes put pictures of the product being used how it usually would be.. for example foundation on your face, eye shadow on eyes etc? Just for better reference.. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is something i'm working on :) I keep meaning to purchase a tripod so I can take face photos and put it off for some reason...but yeah definitely something that will be introduced in the future :)
DeleteOoo Yay! Well I look forward to that then :p Thanks
DeleteI really want to try this foundation! I love the look of the bottle ha! Will have to go to my local counter soon :) xo
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm glad i'm not the only one who enjoys packaging haha :)
DeleteI bought this today with the Porefessional primer too! I have really dry skin so I am hoping for long lasting coverage, and I've read a few reviews from girls with dry skin that it does the job. Fingers crossed!xxx
ReplyDeleteI've heard that on dry skin that it is amazing so I think you'll love it :) let me know whow you get on :)
DeleteI've also seen this and i'm curious about whether or not it'd come in my shade. I'm disappointed by the reported wear time but I do like the apparent consistency.
ReplyDeleteI think they do there is some really deep shades for black skin tones so your medium tan skin should hopefully find a shade? Or you may be unlucky like me and sit smack ban inbetween two shades...gah! :(
DeleteI love how you relate the background of your photos with the product!

thank you so much :)
DeleteWhere did you get the sample from? I'm not one to buy an expensive product without trying it first :)

I'm a Benefit gal through and through but wasn't sure whether they'd be any good at 'serious' make-up like foundation. I use their tinted moisturizer at the moment and am looking for a step up. Thanks for your review!

Great review! :) what is the lightest shade, 'pure for sure' ivory? Or 'believe in me' ivory?
