As I have blogged quite frequently about the Revlon Matte lipsticks, in order not to bore anyone to tears I shall only summarise quickly on their formulas.
Generally speaking all Revlon Matte lipsticks feel light on the lips yet have a matte appearance. They are not the most drying of matte formula's yet if you feel this may be an issue you can apply
a light coat of balm before application and as long as you blot it off before applying you will not jeopardise the matte finish. I don't personally use balm as I find them comfortable to wear without any added moisture. They typically wear for around four hours without needing touched up, the deeper shades do fair better with a lip liner although that is not totally necessary and done!
Really Red is a shade rather far from my comfort zone. If I'm feeling brave and want a red lip it tends to be one with a orange under tone, my weapon of choice is normally the orange-red wonder that is Mac So Chaud. Yet here I am with a red brown shade with a blue undertone.
Revlon Really Red is grown up without being overly 'mature', it's red without being tacky or over the top yet it is slightly vampy. I would go as far as stating that this could well be an everyday red for some. It will make your teeth look that bit whiter thanks to the blue undertone. In bullet form it looks slightly browner than it applies but once on the lips it is a true red that should suit a wide array of skin tones. Due to the blue tone I guess it should be deemed cool but the nature of the shade should make it fairly easy for most to wear.
Product Summary
Round Up - A brown red matte lipstick that wears as well as it looks.
Best For - Those who want a red that is not too bold and has a blue undertone.
Pigmentation - 8/10 I think if it was any more pigmented it would alter the shade.
Availability - Revlon stockists such as Superdrug/Boots for £7.49 but you can pick it up on eBay for £3.99 inclusive of p&p.

ReplyDeleteI love that you've been reviewing these. They don't get reviewed and swatched individually much and I find that the stickers and bullet don't accurately represent what you get. <3 Good job stepping outside your comfort zone! It looks great!
