I originally ordered this just before Christmas from Debenham's but something happened
and my order never arrived, I was a little disappointed as I ordered a few things
with the hope of being able to wear them to a Christmas party
but so is life and luckily they refunded me so I was able to re-buy the items.
Mac Gingerly is supposedly the shade Kim Kardashian often sports
as annoying as she is, I have to admit that she is beautifully made up
and if this shade helps me in my quest to look a little more groomed
all is not a loss!
As with all Mac packaging it is in classic black plastic casing
with a transparent lid that allows you to see the shade encased inside.
The blush packaging is light weight and of a good size not to mention sturdy.
However if you do find it a little too bulky you can easily de-pot them,
check YouTube for lots of easy tutorials.
Gingerly is a warm orange tinged tan shade and cool in tone,
in the pan I will admit that it is not the most appealing of shades
but once applied it gives a natural hint of sunshine/tan without looking artificial.
As it is matte you can use it as a blush/bronzer or to contour depending on your skin tone.
With a light hand this could potentially be a great contour shade for fair skins
and built up a little it looks great on medium skins.
I do think darker tones may find this a little on the light side,
I have to build the shade up on my NC35/37 skin.
Mac Gingerly is a sheertone blush which means it is no way chalky
and you can build up the intensiveness of the shade without worrying about the formula
turning ashy or looking over done as the finish is sheer.
Gingerly is a sheertone the pigmentation is average
and delivers an even flush of colour to the skin.
Generally speaking sheertone shades have less fall out than any other Mac formula,
Gingerly feels soft to the touch and light on the skin, like you have no make-up on sensation.
In terms of wear I find Mac blushes to last around 8 hours without any touch ups
or the shade faltering through out the day.

I think with a light hand you may be surprised :)
Deleteperhaps swatch it in store so you can try it out before you buy?
Very pretty, but a bit to sheer for my taste. But I have to admit I am already having a passionate love affair with my Sleek Suede blush which seems to be of the same family as Gingerly!

Deleteohhh making a trip to Mac tomorrow so definitely going to have a look for this blush. I'm glad its matte too, don't think I would like it as much if it had a shimmer too it because this colour looks more natural! xo
ReplyDeleteI agree matte is often my first choice in formula as they sit better on my skin :) x
DeleteIts such a great shade and right on trend with the "Burnt" cheek theme seen on the catwalk xx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have bought it at a better time :) x
DeleteI love gingerly on paler girls. Unfortunately, as you said - it takes a lot of building up to get it to even remotely show up on my skin. So i've never purchased it. : (
