Time is of the essence.
Why spend half an hour applying your make-up, when you can be in and out in five minutes? Think of all those glorious, extra seconds spent toasty in bed. Now that I have your attention, let's de-clutter, simplify and make the most of our morning (or evening routine) so you have space both in your make-up bag and diary for the things that really matter.
Sanctuary Wet Skin Moisture Miracle
Jo Loves A Fragrance Paintbrush Gel
Fragrance in general is a tricky category to navigate as we all have our preferences but if you can find a scent within the Jo Loves A Fragrance Paintbrush Gel collection, you have all but struck gold. Not only are the paintbrushes a dream to travel with (goodbye spills, leaks and backache) but they are next to heavenly to apply: a cool, refreshing gel that gently dispenses a long wearing scent that can applied anywhere, any time and is perfect for carrying around in any bag - travel or otherwise. Find them here for £40 each - link.
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow
I suffer terribly from dull skin in the winter months and yet I don't really want to pile on layer upon layer of highlighter, I want something soft and light diffusing. Answering the plea for glowy, plump and hydrated skin is Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow - or as I like to call it, the 8th wonder of my make-up bag. Think of this lighter than air fluid as an all singing, all dancing primer: it gently moisturises the skin, it refines and optically blurs, it illuminates and it also locks make-up firmly in place. Every beauty routine and shelf has space for this product. You can track this down via FeelUnique for £38.50 - link.
Liquid Concealer
Concealer - sometimes I use it, most of the time I don't. In the grand scheme of things my skin isn't actually all that bad anymore (touch wood), rather I have textured skin thanks to years of acne scarring so full coverage isn't always a necessity. What I do require is something that is quick, easy to use and entirely adaptable. I'll be the first to admit that the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector is not the best bang for your buck in terms of sheer volume for product but my gosh is it handy. The creamy, liquid like concealer, glides on to the skin and can be used in place of foundation, or of course as a typical concealer in a moments notice. In my opinion Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector offers medium coverage but the light texture can be applied in layers when and where needed, not to mention it can be used on the entirety of the face. Perhaps a little odd but a use none the less, this concealer applies really well to the lips should you ever want a primer of this nature and/or a product to reduce their natural hue. You can find Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector via Look Fantastic for £29.50/7ml - link.
Becca Beach Tint
I don't care what shade of Becca Beach Tint you decide to make your own, just make sure that you grab at least one. I have overlooked the unassuming, tiny tubes that are Becca Beach Tints one time too many but trust me when I say no product is more reliable in a pinch that it. A quick dab of the tinted gel-like lotion and you will be the proud wearer of perfectly flushed cheeks and beautifully stained lips. The beauty of the Becca Beach Tints are that they melt so harmoniously into the skin that it is near impossible to go wrong, and as they have a sheer consistency, they work with the tone of your natural complexion, rather than masking it with heavy colour. If that is not enough to sway you, they wear all day long even in the most humid of conditions (I'm guessing that is somewhat in the name) and you don't need a brush to apply. Treat yourself to a shade in the near future and I promise you won't look back. You can grab it via Space.NK for £20 - link and there is a whoppin' eight shades to chose from.
Lip balm is great but what about a product that can be used anywhere and everywhere? Sure my lips get dried out (only like all the time) but what about those pesky cracked elbows and knees? Or when my shoes start to rub and there is not a pharmacy in sight, or even when I need my highlighter to pop that little more that usual? The answer to all of the above and more is Indeed Labs 10balm: a quick and easy to use multi-purpose balm that is non-greasy and instantly comforting. If you are looking for something medicated, I also recommend Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. Grab your tube of Indeed Labs 10balm via Look Fantastic £19.99/30ml - link.
A Multi-Purpose Balm
Now your make-up bag is newly reformed, you'll have more time to scroll Instagram and/or Twitter in the mornings...or you know maybe make it on to that early train you are forever late for.
