Jo Malone Bath Soaps Michael Angove Review

Soap. Truly how often do you purchase soap and no I'm not talking about the anti-bacterial liquid hand soap you purchase with your weekly grocery shop, rather I am indeed referring to the solid bars that perhaps now seem a little lost in time. I often find myself admiring the huge and intricate wheels of soap in Lush but truly couldn't tell you the last time I treated myself to a chunk. Why? Honestly, slabs of unwrapped soap just isn't all that practical nor ascetically pleasing after a few uses - well unless it is nestled inside one of the newly designed Michael Angove gift wraps and of course happens to be Jo Malone.

Humour me for a moment; I am at that age (late twenties - gulp) where it is time to get real, plan for the future and really mean it and somewhere in such dream, there is a beautifully designed bathroom with a dish full of tempting Jo Malone soaps. Have I quite scrambled together the down payment on said imagery home? Nope, but I do have the soaps - every cloud and all that. The three, small but perfectly formed and deliciously scented Jo Malone Soaps, mean more to me than an extravagant way to wash my hands - they are the beginning of a new chapter.

Admittedly soap might not be the first gift choice that springs to mind to mark any event but with so many choosing Jo Malone fragrances (the five most sought after Jo Malone scents have been made into soap) to mark special events: be it a wedding, the birth of a child and/or a landmark birthday, the chunky cleanser could mean so much more to someone than you could ever foresee. It's a thoughtful gesture, it's lavish and yet not overly so and at £14 (admittedly expensive for soap) it won't leave you weeping in a corner, wondering if you'll have to live on beans and toast for the rest of the month.

As mentioned each soap is £14 each but selected World Duty Free locations offer the above set: a Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Soap, a English Pear and Freesia and the beautiful red roses scent for £32, which is a fairly hefty saving of £10. If you aren't planning on jetting off any time soon, you can find all five varieties here - link.

So if you are ever in my bathroom (current or y'know in the beautiful white space that only exists in my mind), be a dear and admire my soap.
