Kiehl's Face Masks Review

I say "latest", when really both Kiehl's masks that I am about to lift the lid on, have been around for a few months. Rather selfishly, I have privately enjoyed both formulations and have yet to as much as mention the masks on social media, let alone on this site. Well today I have sat down and reviewed not one, but two truly wonderful skin saving masks that may have you clearing a space on your bathroom shelf sometime soon.

Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque £28/75ml - link.

If I could only use five face masks for the rest of my life, this would make the cut. I'm not saying this is my favorite mask ever but it certainly is in the running - I'm fickle and unless a mask pretty much granted me a pore-less complexion, I will forever tip toe around the term holy grail.

What I can say is that no other at home facial mask - or treatment for that matter - comes close to achieving the instant radiance boost that Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque delivers. It is quick, effective, deeply cleansing, skin softening and despite erring on a little messy to apply, a joy to use. While we are on the topic of application, I should mention that this is clay based and as such it does dry on the skin and can crack - personally I find this amusing...well until it comes to cleaning up afterwards that is.

The two core ingredients of Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque are of course Turmeric and Cranberry Seed: Turmeric tones, tightens and cleanses the skin (coupled with the clay base this removes all traces of oil and trapped grime), the cranberry seeds act as a form of manual exfoliation during the removal process. From the first application you will (yes will) uncover brighter, plumper and softer skin, that you may just find yourself unwittingly stroking each time you pass a mirror...no just me.

Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque £28/75ml - link.

Admittedly Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque may not be the mask I rave about, nor reach for all that frequently but when I do, I can rely on it to save my stressed out complexion after a day in the smoky city.

Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque has been created to not only protect the skin against environmental aggressors such as smoke and general pollution, but to some extent repair the complexion too - of course this is only when used frequently. Unlike the above clay based mask, Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque is a little more gel-like and is best applied at night and left on overnight. That's not to say you can not apply it to freshly cleansed skin at any time of the day but this is a treatment that requires at least an hour, to really see any visible results.

For a moment let's ignore the ingredients as they are pretty scarce on the official website to begin with, and let's concentrate on what this mask delivers after an overnight application. The first thing you may notice is clearer pores, I'm not sure how it does it but it does and on occasion it has reduce the redness of large blemishes too. Next you may discover that your skin feels plump, something that you may be grateful for if sleep is not your current BFF and lastly your complexion will be soft and glowing. Think of Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque as a good nights sleep coupled with a detoxing treatment and you have this mask.

Yup, you have likely guessed the main ingredients within this mask are Cilantro (Coriander) and Orange: Orange is full of natural Vitamin C which should help promote a brighter, glowing complexion and from what I have read Cilantro offers anti-oxidants to repair and protect. As Kiehl's Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque delivers just what the ingredients promise too, I won't grumble about the lack of mask information on the Kiehl's website.

Now it's up to you to decide which of the two masks best suit your skin needs, or of course you could go for broke and purchase both and perhaps have the complexion of your dreams. The choice really is yours.
