Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Review

At the moment all I have been using in terms of a base product is a tinted moisturiser, can you believe it? Me, an acne prone, oily skinned, fickle gal who typically won't settle for anything less than full coverage, is wearing nothing more than a tinted moisturiser? No, I can't quite wrap my head around it and yet here we are. The tinted moisturiser of choice? Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser coupled with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer; I kid you not, thanks to this duo I feel like a new woman - well maybe not, but I am really enjoying wearing a lighter base product and I think my skin is appreciative of it too.

Let's begin with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer as it is the first step in my routine shall we? Unlike other foundation primers, this does not have a silicone enriched nor thick texture - rather it is soft, creamy-gel and very similar to a light moisturiser It gently hydrates the skin making it ideal for drier complexions; those like myself with an oily or even normal skin type needn't worry it is no way greasy, heavy nor over whelming, and as an added bonus it is oil free. Unlike the majority of primers I own I do not find that the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer optically blurs fine lines or enlarged pores - rather it acts a grip, a glue if you wish (or don't, the choice is yours) to keep any product applied on top intact. I do find that in the case of my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser it does this exceptionally well, the primer locks the creamy texture of the moisturiser in place without any additional weight and keeps it looking fresh all day long (at least 8 hours). Yes it is the ideal partner to Laura Mercier Foundation Primer but also a great choice if you are allergic to silicone products or simply want a lighter than average primer - I can't think of a better choice for the upcoming Summer weather.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser £34/50ml via House of Fraser - link
Now for the real star of the show Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser - a real first for me as I was utterly convinced that my skin needs and type would never be fully compatible with a tinted moisturiser, and yet here we are. Yes Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser is creamy and being a moisturiser of sorts it is of course hydrating - I'm not in anyway suggesting that everyone should follow my lead but I have found that as it a moisturiser and as I have oily skin, I can skip my everyday moisturiser.

The lightweight, cream based texture glides onto the skin, cooling and of course hydrates as it goes, all the while perfecting the skin tone and texture. Does Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser cover every tiny imperfection of mine? No but it does adequately disguise my acne scarring, levels out any discolouration (I have a little redness around my nose at the moment) and generally leaves my skin looking brighter and dare I say a little glowy. I hate to use the following term but Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser does produce that elusive my skin but better effect - my skin is perfected yet it does appear that I have nothing obvious applied to my face. The dream.

As an added bonus, as this is a tinted moisturiser you can apply in layers (a little goes a long way) and it will not cake nor gather into dry areas nor enlarged pores - it also does not dry out throughout the day nor dehydrate the skin. If that is not enough it also contains an SPF of 20 to protect against environmental damage (UVA/UVB protection). Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser really is the best tinted moisturiser I have ever tried. Heck it is the only product of its kind to sway me from typical foundation bases, and that in itself is no mean feat.

If you have yet to try Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser put it firmly on your to do list.
