Continuing with the same but different theme is the YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum packaging - the original Black Opium bottle is very similar to the above, the main difference is that it features all black accents. As you can see the YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum is slightly more pink tinged, with a smattering of silver glitter and rose gold accents. I rather like that all three variants of the YSL Black Opium franchise have subtle differences yet align together, to form a solid identity. Clever.
The new take on YSL Black Opium is energetic, youthful and edgy - very true to what you have come to expect from the collective. Apparently YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum takes its name from an annual event in Paris - Nuit Blanche (White Night), in which women take control of the city and live it up. Count me in! The scent perfectly embodies such celebration due to its carefully selected notes: a burst of coffee that reflects the energetic spirit of the evening be it Nuit Blanche or otherwise, this is combined with a soft hint of creamy rice, spicy and intriguing pepper for the unexpected and to ensure it has a white floral aspect, gentle notes of orange blossom absolute vanilla absolute, sandalwood and white musk are also added to the mix. The end result? A punchy, intense white floral that manages to remain true to the original Black Opium fragrance and yet injects a new lease of life at the same time.
I don't quite have the ability to some up how wonderful YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum truly is, if ever a scent felt city/party ready without being obvious it is this. It goes without saying that I urge you to give this a test the next time you are near a fragrance counter, more so if you are already an existing Black Opium fan.
