I recently gave up eating meat (again, yeah let's not go there) and as such my once free from blemish complexion continually broke out. I know that breakouts due to a fairly drastic diet change is normal but that doesn't make it enjoyable and being in my twenties, I am less than tempted by the harsh and often foaming cleansers aimed at such skin concerns. I want a hard-working yet gentle cleanser, one packed with skin saving ingredients and something that will not only care for my skin but remove all traces of my make-up too. I may just have found the answer in, Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser...
Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser as you may have guessed has been formulated to treat blemish prone skin, particularly adult problematic skin - a skin complaint that the beauty world seems to forget exists on the whole. That is not to say that those in their teens can not use this cleanser, it is very mild and really well formulated - I kinda wish it was around sooner, it would have given me one less thing to complain about ha!
The first thing I noticed about Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser is the consistency, it is somewhat a cross between a cleansing gel and lotion - a thick, cooling almost like balm texture that does not foam and yet gently removes all traces of dirt, grime, oil and make-up. I can not vouch if this removes eye make-up and as such would recommend you avoid applying to such area. Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser is one of the few cleansers that leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and not at all dried out, nor tight and uncomfortable.
As anyone with blemish prone skin will tell you, blemishes naturally dry out and form dry, almost scab-like heads, it is when they are at this stage I personally struggle. In my experience if I accidentally rip one of these scabs off, such blemish is more prone to scarring and/or taking longer to heal. The thick, balm like texture of this moisturising cleanser glides over the skin and does not interfere with the skin's naturally healing process.
The above may be enough to sell you on the cleanser alone but the spot banish qualities keep on continuing, Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser contains: Encapsulated Salicylic Acid - this gently helps to speed up the healing process of any existing blemishes and to some extent gently exfoliates the skin. With continued use, it may promote a clearer complexion and even skin tone. Unlike other cleansers the Salicylic Acid within this cleanser works up to 8 hours after rinsing the skin clean, to help prevent new blemishes from forming in the first place. This is also along with Amino Acids and Hyaluronic Acid, to help promote naturally plump and moisturised from the inside out, and lastly Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser features antioxidants to defend against free radical damage.
I've been using the Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser for a good few weeks now and I have noticed that my skin has began to settle down, I will admit that this could be partly due to my body naturally adjusting to the change of diet. However as Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser has an inbuilt spot treatment, it does treat, speed up the healing process and of course prevent scarring, all the while being gentle and non-drying which is good enough for me. The added anti-ageing technology is just a bonus.
Fellow adult blemish sufferers, this is the cleanser you have been waiting for!

ReplyDeleteFor how long have you used your cleanser? It depends on that! I just blogged about how a cleansing skin routine should be, you can read about it on www.bynatja.dk

As a fellow blemish prone person, this sounds wondeful! I recently bought a 10x magnifying glass and let me tell you that was horrifying, to see the traces of scarring close and personal :X
ReplyDeleteI can more than relate to the struggle of dealing with blemishes in their scab-like stage. I also struggle the most during this time. I love the idea of a cleanser that is gentle enough to not disrupt the healing process of the skin but is still actively working to clear out bacteria and oil. I'll definitely look into this!

I'm glad you seemed to like this product. I tried the Murad acne line a year years ago and had the worst allergic reaction I've ever had to skincare. My entire face swelled up, I had a red rash all over my forehead and cheeks, and it was so painful. I've never been able to bring myself to use their other face products (although their body creams are nice). I have no idea what was in it, but there is something super strong in there that others may want to be aware of.
