Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Collection

The beauty industry seems to have the misconception that if you have blemish prone skin chances are you are under the age of 18 and don't care about anti-ageing technology. Wrong. I know plenty of women and men who didn't begin to suffer from blemishes until they reached adulthood - in a nutshell hormones can be a b!tch.

Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Collection

Today I have two new skin care products that not only offer relief and comfort to blemish prone skin types. Will they resolve all your adult blemish woes? No but very little does, what they will do is provide ant-ageing technology and general skin protection all without further irritating your skin, let's be honest sometimes that is the hardest part of the battle.

Murad Anti-Ageing Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 30 £42 - link.
If I could recommend only one product to fellow blemished skin readers - concerned with ageing or otherwise it would be Murad Anti-Ageing Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 30. Yes at £42 this does not come cheap but I am hard pushed to think of a daily facial SPF that is quite so effective. You see the light, nourishing moisture base of this product delicately comforts and hydrates the skin, all without overwhelming naturally oily complexions. Forgetting about the added SPF benefits for one quick moment, the non-greasy texture is the ideal everyday base for applying make-up on top off - there is no slip nor slid and it won't dry out your skin, despite offering oil control. If that is not enough Murad Anti-Ageing Moisturiser of course contains an SPF 30 with will protect the skin from both UVA and UVB rays, along with anti-ageing technology. To reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, this moisturiser contains Kombucha Collagen Defense which gently plumps and evens out the skin texture - a little like a primer would. If ever there was an all singing, all dancing daily moisturiser, this is it.

Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Reducer £45/30ml - link
I'll admit that I still have young skin and have yet to experience the visible signs of ageing. I'm sure in ten or so years time, I'll read this post back and hate myself a little ha! I may not have lines on my face but I do know a thing or two about having an oily, blemish prone complexion and of course enlarged pores.

For a night on the tiles, or any general special occasion I will reach for a silicone based primer and all but fill in my pores as if I was plastering a wall. The problem with this is my skin doesn't always appreciate my heavy handed ways and will reward me with a blemish or five for a smooth, photo-ready canvas. If that sounds a little too familiar, perhaps Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Reducer is what you have been waiting for?

Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Reducer is a light, silky lotion that has been formulated to not only treat blemishes but both resurface the skin and offer ant-ageing technology too - genius! Again this has a great texture - super lightweight, almost like a gel and along with being cooling it is non-comedogenic (it won't clog the pores). Much like the above moisturiser, this too features Kombucha Collagen Defense to visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles - I also find it helps to optically blur enlarged pores and general skin imperfections. If that is not enough it also contains Encapsulated Salicylic Acid - this works deep down into the pores to reduce skin inflammation and redness and may speed up the skin healing process. This is along with both Retinol and Glycolic Acid, which as we all know may accelerate natural cell turnover to improve skin tone and texture, and in the case of Retinol dramatically reduce existing lines for good.

I must stress as this does contain Retinol, it is beyond important that you team this with SPF - an SPF that protects against UVA and UVB rays. I also suggest that you apply any Retinol based product in the evening to limit skin sensitivity to the sun.

Two great launches, that prove at least one brand realises that many of us do want to fight adult breakouts, as well as protecting and treating our skin. I would love to see this line extended.
