New Mascara Launches 2016

If you are in the market for a new Mascara, January is your lucky month as there are more than 10 new launches to choose from and that is just from the high street alone - what a time to be alive ha! Like a greedy kid in a candy store, I have been dipping my fingers and coating my eyelashes in pretty much every new formulation going and as such I have a few thoughts. I would like to add that it is of premature as far as testing goes and over the coming days and weeks, I will of course be providing a full review of each mascara - with before and after photos too, oh how I spoil you.

L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara £9.99 via Superdrug - link

The latest L'Oreal launch is both practical and innovative; not only does this mascara stretch out the eyelashes creating a beautiful fanned out effect (even those pesky inner corner lashes) as well as giving the illusion of additional length. The spoon like shape of the plastic mascara spoolie, cups the lashes and gently creates an uplifting, eye-opening effect come curl. If that is not enough the L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara the comb style brush, gently coats and tight lines between the lashes much like an eye-liner for thicker, fuller lashes.

If like myself you enjoy wispy false eyelashes but want something a little less fiddly yet equally as eye/face framing this is the mascara for you. If I could liken it to anything it would be demi-wispy lashes but in tube form. The only downside is that L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara is a little prone to smudging but then again that could be my oily skin to blame.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara £5.99 via Boots - link

Can I confess to something? I have a huge girl crush on Gigi Hadid, seriously how can one woman be so effortlessly beautiful. Gah, life can be unfair! Needless to say I purchased the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara based on the Gigi advertisements, that was back in October and when I was unsure if this would reach the UK or not. Lucky it has and as I am on my second tube I think it is safe to say I am a fan. Weirdly this mascara doesn't really do all it says it will, it falls a little flat in terms of pushing up and curling the lashes but if you are a fan of additional length and volume, all without clumping, this is the mascara for you.

Pixi Lengthy Fiber Mascara £16 - link
Pixi Black Lacquer Lash Primer £15 - link

Two new Pixi launches: a fiber loaded mascara that gently adds volume and length to the lashes and if applied in layers it can create a false lash effect. If you enjoy dramatic mascaras this is what you have been waiting for, I must add that due to the fibers this may irritate sensitive eyes - perhaps avoid if you wear contact lenses. For a more natural effect there is Pixi Black Lacquer Lash Primer, this glossy black treatment can be worn alone for a luscious black vinyl effect or worn under any mascara to prevent smudging, smearing and flaking - clever huh?

Pixi Brow Brightener £12 - link

Okay, okay now this is not technically a mascara but I wanted to share it none the less. This golden toned brow tamer will not only help you create slick and polished brows but it will set any brow product too. Now I know what you are thinking, why a gold tinged brow product? Truthfully I'm not all that sure but what I can say is that it is subtle and can help defuse a heavy brow (hey we've all been there) - I also like it as a stand alone brow gel over my blonde brows. If you are feeling adventurous give this a whirl, if you need further convincing I will pop up a full review in the coming days.

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara (pink lid) £6.99 via Boots - link; a large natural fibre brush that evenly coats the lashes without weighing them down. Ideal for those who have fine lashes that need plumped up.

Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara (purple lid) £6.99 via Boots - link; the plastic wand acts as a comb ensuring your lashes are beautifully coated and clump free. The perfect mascara for those who enjoy a natural look.

Revlon Super Length Waterproof Mascara (green lid) £6.99 via Boots - link; the large, natural brush stretches the lashes to their maximum potential, all the while preventing smudges and flakes. My personal favourite of the bunch.

Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara (red lid) £6.99 via Boots - link; if you need a hard working mascara, this your go to guy. It lengthens, lifts, adds volume and separation, and deeply tints lashes - what more could you ask for? The dinky brush is also great for those with small eyes.

Revlon Volume + Length Amplified Mascara (blue lid) £6.99 via Boots - link; the title says it all, it lengthens and thickens the lashes. I find this creates a dramatic doll/doe eye look.

Now long-time readers of The Sunday Girl will recall the many years that I swore by Revlon HD Mascara, as a matter of a fact I still rate and recommend it but as a blogger I do have to try out other formulations - if I didn't I have nothing to write about! Anyway if like myself you swear by Revlon Mascaras your luck is in as five new formulas have just landed. From length boosting, to volume creating there is something for everyone, including an all singing, all dancing all -in-one offering.

Now if you excuse me I have some eyelashes that need primping...
