10 Beauty Uses for Aloe Vera Gel

Forget the new organic, natural and multi-purpose product on the block, that is Coconut Oil and spare a though for Aloe Vera Gel - the original hard working beauty product that so many of us now forget about. A naturally cooling, moisturising gel that is cheap, cheerful, easily found and the answer to many skin and beauty woes. If you don't consider Aloe Vera Gel to be a beauty classic, we can't friends...well we can be but expect me to bring up the issue that you are not on board with the natural wonder, at least once within our friendship.

Why is Aloe Vera Gel a shoe in for the beauty classic category? I'm so glad you asked. Did you know that Aloe Vera Gel is free from fragrance, colourants making it suitable for all skin types and conditions? Let me share ten ways you can utilise Aloe Vera Gel for all your skin and beauty needs.

1, Aloe Vera Gel is a gentle cleanser, it should melt off most forms of make-up (maybe use something else for stubborn eye make-up) and as boasts natural anti-septic qualities. As such it may help to not only calm blemishes but speed up the natural healing process too.

2, Did you know that Aloe Vera contains natural soothing and cooling properties much like menthol, that is why it is such a great remedy for helping to calm and take the sting out of not only sunburn but minor burns of any description. As a side note it will also take the itch out of most insects bites.

3, Aloe Vera works wonders on my eczema it gently yet deeply hydrates the dried out skin, all the while soothing and calming the irritation. I find it particularly effective on balmy nights when my skin oddly flares up, or when my eczema is at the dreaded cracked stage. Gross I know.

4, Before plucking your eyebrows, apply a thin layer of Aloe Vera gel and it will somewhat act as numbing agent making the whole process a little more comfortable. I kid you not when I say this is a tip I picked up while watching the TV show friends - you couldn't make it up.

5, As someone prone to hives I couldn't not begin to tell you how many times Aloe Vera Gel has come to my rescue. It gently soothes and calms my inflamed skin, prevents further swelling and of course takes care of any uncomfortable itching.

6, If you find your skin is easily irritated by regular shaving foam or gel, Aloe Vera Gel can be used in place. As an added bonus it will not only moisturise the skin but help to heal any shaving cuts - I can't be the only one incapable of not being able to shave their legs without loosing a strop or two of skin?

7, Perhaps not its most sophisticated of uses but practical none the less, Aloe Vera Gel can be used as an entirely natural skin moisturiser - both for the face and body.

8, Further adding to the above use, I have read reports of Aloe Vera Gel being used as a preventive method to prevent and then fade stretch marks. I personally believe that in some instances stretch marks can not be avoided but if you are not looking for a miracle cure it could be worth trying on old marks to see if they somewhat fade. As a preventive method I'd imagine it will work in the same vain any body moisturiser would, the may difference is that this is both cooling and 100% natural - not to mention quick to absorb and non-greasy.

9, If you are prone to under eye bags and general eye puffiness, a quick slick of Aloe Vera Gel will gently reduce any swelling, brighten the skin, all the while cooling and refreshing the area.

10, Lastly Aloe Vera Gel is one of the original hydrating and brightening facial mask - apply a generous layer all over the face, allow to absorb for up to 10 minutes and then tissue of the excess. As a side note you can somewhat adopt a similar method for the feet, again apply a layer all over the skin and then pop on socks before climbing into bed. Not only will your feet feel re-freshened but they will be softened too.

Hopefully you will now join me in becoming an avid fan of Aloe Vera Gel? Or perhaps you have a use for the gel that I have not mentioned above? If so please feel free to share in the comment section below.
