Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum

With the chilly, darker Autumn days comes an array of deeper, moodier and dare I say it sexier fragrances. Leading the way is the utterly irresistible Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum; from the handbag shaped bottle (complete with golden chain) to the peppery, alluring notes - this is the scent of the season and one, many will find difficult to pass up.

The first thing you will notice about Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum is the bottle - the reason so many of us will stop dead in our tracks. A novel, luxe hunter green, mini handbag shaped, display with pride bottle that has of course been inspired by a Marc Jacobs handbag. I especially adore the metal, golden chain come mock strap and tassel accent. Is it the most travel friendly fragrance launch of late? Is it heck, not even by a long mile but isn't that what fragrance decanters such as the Travalo were invented for? Push, come to shove you could remove the lid which should in turn make Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum a little less bulky.

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum

As the saying goes, what truly matters is what is inside and Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum is a sultry, almost peppery yet woody sensory treat that is as perfect for cool, crisp days as it is an evening on the tiles. Much like the stylish and unusual bottle I can not think of a fragrance to compare this to; not at all similar (and I can not stress this enough) but similar in depth is Thierry Mugler Alien and Narciso - Narciso Rodriguez.

For those curious the official note composition is as follows: the top notes are Italian Plum, Iris and Saffron. At the heart there is Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac and Orris, at the base there is Amber, Vertiver and Papyrus Woods. In my opinion the Saffron and Amber notes are most obvious, overall this is quite a heavy fragrance that I do feel is a little peppery despite no pepper note - weird, or my nose is all over the place. Most likely the latter, either way this is a lovely rich and long wearing fragrance that lives up the decadence moniker.

  11. I had a smell of this the weekend and I really love it! I feel like it's a more mature and adult scent (and even the bottle!) from Marc Jacobs and I really do like it.

It reminds me of autumn and winter, so I'm sure it'll be a big hit over the Christmas period as gifts. :)
