Believe it or not, I don't hugely enjoy the Summer - I'm much more at home in the cooler temperatures of Autumn and Winter. One thing I do enjoy about Summer is carefree beach inspired hair, this is when my natural wavy hair really comes into its own! As someone who doesn't enjoy crispy or dried out hair but would like more defined waves, the new John Frieda Beach Blonde collection has been my saving grace.
I would like to stress that the John Frieda Beach Blonde is suitable for all hair colours as they are not intended to further lighten blonde tresses and contain no colour stripping ingredients. My guess is that the collection falls under the blonde umbrella of John Frieda purely because a vast number of us tend to go a few shades lighter come the summer months and need a little more nourishment. The shampoo and conditioner have been formulated to hydrate and repair, the spray is the only product that promotes waves within the hair, so the majority of this line can be used by all.
If you plan on doing a lot of swimming this summer be it in the pool or the sea you will need a good, clarifying shampoo to remove all traces of chlorine and salt. In the same vain if you rely on a lot of product to style your hair you may be in the market for a deeply cleansing shampoo to remove build up? Enter John Frieda Beach Blonde Cool Dip Purifying Shampoo - a mint infused shampoo that deeply cleanses without drying out the hair, extra important when you factor in the damage the sun, sea and pool can cause.
With that in mind you will want to follow up each hair wash with a deeply hydrating conditioner. Not only does John Frieda Beach Blonde Smooth Seas Conditioner (which is again infused with mint), gently smooth and hydrate even the most parched of locks but it helps to de-tangle any knots and snags. Anyone who has any length to their hair will tell you that raking a comb through your locks is nothing but a miserable task after a dip in the sea and pool. John Frieda Bleach Blonde Smooth Seas Conditioner allows you to skip a leave in conditioner and makes de-tangling that little easier. Forget the beach I like this as an every wash product - minty scented hair that is easier to style, what's not to like?
So you want defined, beachy waves without the drying or crispy aspect, well you need John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray. This coconut scented spray is light weight yet contains real sea salt to quickly create and set textured waves. To apply simply mist all over damp hair, comb through and allow to air dry. The great thing about John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray is that once absorbed it doesn't leave behind any residue - no dried out hair, crispness and perhaps most impressive is that it doesn't leave my hair a tangled mess. If you have all but given up on texture and wave boosting sprays give this budget friendly option a go before throwing in the towel completely.
You can find all of the above products via Superdrug (I have linked each item individually) and prices range from £5.99 -£6.99.
This post contains both a press sample and products I have purchased myself.

I recently picked up the hair spray and I LOVE it! It didn't make my hair curly BUT it made my hair really thick and I found that it helped my hair stay matte and not go greasy as quickly. I'm so chuffed with it. ^_^
