Weekly Favourites #78

Don't you just love a bank holiday weekend? I forever promise myself that I will use it productively - catch up on admin work and plan future features and yet I'm lounging in my PJ's watching Law & Order SVU. There is always Monday...

It has been a long while since I have finished a candle so quickly but the Birch & Brook Library Candle speaks to me in ways no others can - strong yet not overpowering, woody, smoky and totally original. I've had it burning away quickly in the lounge every evening for the past week or so and I will certainly be purchasing the large full size version very soon. At the moment I am testing out Birch & Brook Festival Candle which is beautiful in its own right but it is not quite Library. If you are looking for a somewhat usual yet comforting home scent Birch & Brook Library Candle is it, find it here - link.

Weekly Favourites #78

Lately I have been trying out a whole number of new products but the most notable and on rotation this week have been: Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick in Melted Metallic Peony (£19 via Debenhams you can also request a sample using the above link) - a shimmery yet totally wearable, blue based, light pink, glossy lipstick. The overall shade reminds me a lot of MAC Angel, only this has a high sheen finish and is far more hydrating - perfect for the Summer months. New to my collection is Kiko Extra Sculpt Mascara  (£8.90 via Kiko) - bulky packaging aside this has turned out to be a great everyday mascara, it adds natural length and volume, doesn't tend to clump or smear and is affordable. If like myself you enjoy a subtle highlight over one that is jam packed with glitter and shimmer particles may I recommend Dolce & Gabbana The Illuminator in Luna (£36 via Harrods). A subtle, glow inducing powder that doesn't settle into open pores, adds a little light to the face - all the while looking natural.

I realise that I should wearing pastel and bright shades on my nails at the moment given the season but Deborah Lippmann Nail Colour in Desert Moon (£16 via Look Fantastic) has won my heart over. A muted, khaki green that manages to be both sophisticated and slightly grunge at the same time - it looks wonderful on my small square nails if I do say so myself and isn't prone to chipping. While we are on the topic of hands I want to give a little shout out to Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream - it quickly takes care of any dryness, isn't greasy and is quick to absorb.

Lastly I have been carting around Sabe Masson Copacabana Soft Perfume (£20 via Cult Beauty) - it is quick and easy to use, refreshing in scent (an interesting blend of fruity and floral notes) and convenient for everyday travel. I like to keep mine in my handbag to freshen up on the go.
