I am no stranger to popping into my local Lush store and leaving with a bag or two of goodies, I am very fortunate to live in Glasgow and to have access to at least four Lush stores with less than a 15 minute commute. I know that is not the case for everyone so rather than going in-store for my latest splurge I decided to order online - I wanted to familiarise myself with the concept, share my experience and get my mitts on the Lush Volcano Foot Mask - it is forever sold out in store.
If I am entirely honest I don't find the Lush UK website to be all that user friendly and don't tend to browse while on there - I make a list of what I want, type said product into the search bar and click add to basket. I find the categories to be a little muddled which can be quite a confusing experience. Design woes aside, I do like that each product is listed with a how to use guide and a full ingredient list as well as a little inside knowledge to why some ingredients are used. I also find the user review section on each individual product to be helpful - many have swayed my opinion on purchasing an item or not.
This time around I purchased: Lush Volcano Foot Mask, Lush Sexy Peel Soap (the fragrance of this soap is incredible), Lush Fresh Farmacy Facial Soap, Lush Putty for Your Hands Hand Wash (not what I was expecting), Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub (I couldn't be without it) and Lush Rub, Rub, Rub Shower Scrub. I placed my order on Sunday night, forgetting that Monday was of course a Bank Holiday here in the UK and my goodies arrived early this morning - so around a four day turnaround excluding the holiday. Everything can well packaged (p&p was just under £4 which is less than my train fare into the city) with a free copy of the Lush Magazine, allowing my to peruse my latest Lush additions in my pyjamas. As much as I like to pop into my local store I do think shopping online has streamlined my shopping habit somewhat - as I can not smell or touch the products I am less likely to add things to my basket on a whim. I would order online again without hesitation.
I really love fresh farmacy, you've reminded me I need to pick some up.
ReplyDeleteI've never been keen on the Lush site either, sadly. Especially around sale time :p But I do agree, the ingredients list & reviews are great to see.

I have always been uncertain about ordering lush online, but I feel like I get too sucked in when it comes to shopping in store. It's good to hear you've had such a great experience.

That foot mask sounds amazing! Just what you need when you've been rushed off your feet all day. I also want to try the fresh pharmacy cleanser.

I always used to order online a few years ago as I couldn't go in store because of the strong smell (for some reason I've managed to overcome this now!) and I've only ever once had a problem and they sorted it quickly with free products thrown in to make up for it x
