I've spoken about my skin problems as of late (acne), as a result I find I have to be far more gentle with my skin and my go to trio have been: Tesco Pro Radiance Melting Gel Cleanser which is an utter snip at under £5. It gently and effectively cleanses my skin, removing every scrap of make-up with ease leaving my skin feeling soft and deeply cleansed after each use. A silent staple if ever there was one. Due to medication my complexion has been rather dried out so I have been relying on Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil to deeply hydrate, nourish and rebalance my skin. I can not recommend it enough for dried out skin. I may have purchased a good few eye creams as of late but I do return to The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream over and over again - it helps not only to nourish such a delicate area along with brightening and offering anti-ageing properties. Well worth looking in to!
Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation has been a life saver as of late, I have slight acne scarring and enlarged pores which can result in products highlighting the problem rather than masking it. The Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation is one of the few foundations I own in which it gently fills in any uneven skin texture, provides an airbrush finish and wears all day long - with or without a primer. Yes it is pretty expensive at £35 a bottle but on bad skin days I know I can more than rely on this formulation.
A quick sum up of my make-up bag for February 2015: MAC Pro Long Wear Blush in Stay Pretty for a healthy and really easy to wear flush of pink, followed by Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light - which has since been cast aside for Illamasqua Brow Gel but is a brilliant pencil none the less, a quick slick of Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner in Naked Basics, finished with a layer or two of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and MAC Brave Lipstick. Simple but it works really well for me, especially when pushed for time.
It may have taken me the longest while to jump on to the Nuxe Reve de Meil Lip Balm bandwagon but I am fully on board now. This thick lip balm instantly hydrates, soothes, nourishes and heals my lips in one quick step and is one of the few blogger raved about products that is worthy of the hype.
Lastly I have been wearing a whole lot of Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily Cologne, this sounds a lot more heady than it actually is. In my opinion it is a clean, sexy, uplifting floral that works well in any weather or occasion. One sniff and I think you will be hooked.

I've always been reluctant to try the Vit E Eye Cream from The Body Shop, I love all of their other Vitamin E products... I may have to get it now though considering it's brightening :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your writing style by the way! :-)

The Laura Mercier foundation is what caught my eye straight away, It sounds like a product I would genuinely love and by the sounds of it- worth the money, but £35 on one foundation would be a little bit of a stretch.

The Pro Formula range from Tesco is such a good budget buy!

I am really into blushers at the moment and that MAC blush sounds absolutely lovely. I've currently been loving Anastasia brow powder duo. I've been using pencil for years but recently tried their powder and it's awesome. It's obviously not as precise as a pencil but it makes a nice change to my routine. I wanted to buy that MAC lipstick a while ago but it's perpetually sold out near me! Apparently it's one of those elusive 'Kylie Jenner' shades that people are buying up!
ReplyDeleteThe MAC blush is amazing, definitely one of my favourites. The colour is so beautiful and the formula MAC has created for their pro longwear blushes is so amazing

I've been loving the NUXE lip balm this month as well, as after spending a week in the sun and at the windy beach my lips were really suffering.

I am also on the Nuxe bandwagon - it is an amazing product. I can't get enough of the lemon curd-type smell; makes me think of lemon meringue pie.x
