Luxury Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Yesterday I shared a few of my favourite budget suggestions to gift a loved one this coming Mothering Sunday, well today I want to suggest a few luxurious products that I am sure anyone would be more than happy to receive.

I have two Jo Malone suggestions both of which are candles, the reason being that fragrance is fairly subjective and unless you know the person really well it can go terribly wrong. Home fragrance on the other hand is slightly easier and who can resist a Jo Malone Candle? I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like the beautiful blend of Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily Candle - it isn't overly floral yet makes a statement. I know I say this fairly often but it is pretty sexy. If you are looking for something similar but more purse friendly try Stoneglow Ginger & White Lily Tumbler which is a snip at £14. If you are dead set on a Jo Malone purchase the travel sized candles offer all the luxury without the steep cost.

If like my Mother and Grandmother you have a caffeine addicted person to gift then the Woodwick Cafe Sweets Candle could be a good call. A sweet blend of coffee shop inspired treats such as Vanilla Bean, Caramel and Biscotti that will satisfy the sweetest tooth without the guilt and calories. Woodwick Candles also feature a real wooden wick that crackles and mimics fire. Now doesn't that sound cosy?

Hands up who wouldn't enjoy a beautiful bottle of Tom Ford Eau de Parfum? If struggling to find a luxurious, special and utterly divine scent to mark the occasion then may I point your direction towards Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum? Soft, floral yet warm and modern - I dare all who tests it not to fall in love. It is currently at the top of my fragrance wish list alongside Tom Ford Tabacco Vanille Eau de Parfum which is a luxuriously rich, deep vanilla scent that is sweet and comforting - perfect for those who enjoy heavier scents.

If you happen to know the person in question skin type then I recommend treating them to a bottle of Clarins Skin Treatment Oil - it is the gift that keeps on giving and is the closest thing to an at home facial I have ever experienced. If not a bottle of Clarins Double Serum would equally do the trick and as it is for all skin types it can eliminate the need for guess work.

Luxury make-up is always cherished isn't it? When it comes to lipstick I fully recommend either a YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick which feels as luxurious on the lips as it looks - comfortable, moisturising and available in a whole range of shades. If the person you have in mind favours matte formulations then the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks are the way to go.

I personally don't think you can ever go wrong with a neutral eyeshadow palette - they suit all needs and complexions. My current favourites include the Smashbox Full Exposure Eyeshadow Palette which includes 14 shade in an array of matte and shimmer formulations along with a mascara and brush. If soft, pastel toned nudes are more suited then the new Dolce and Gabbana Tender Eyeshadow Palette should go down a treat. Four sugary, soft hues that are beautifully pigmented and oh so wearable. Yes they are pricey but however is the lucky recipient will treasure it forever.

Yesterday I touched on the fact that I tend to use Mother's Day as an excuse to treat my loved ones to something they wouldn't typically purchase, something they deem too luxurious. I mentioned my Mother is terrible at replacing her make-up brushes so that is what I have bought her this year. If you are looking for affordable brushes that are beyond well made then look no further than the Zoeva Rose Golden Brush Set. Beautiful to look at yet offers all the brushes you will ever need to create flawless make-up looks.

I do want to reiterate just like I did yesterday that it is not what you spend this coming Mothering Sunday but the thought and effort that counts. Uber cheesy but very true.
