If you are planning on treating yourself or maybe even a loved one to a new fragrance in the coming weeks, your decision couldn't have come at a better time as there is so many new scent launches to behold. Be your preference fruity, sweet, floral or a mixture of all I am confident you will find something new to suit your needs.
With lighter and brighter days hopefully on the way, (we lost half of our garden fence to the torrential wind storm last night so you'll have to excuse my lack of optimism) you may be swayed by fruity, mellow and dare I say it cutesy scents? I know I am. DKNY have just launched three new sorbet inspired fragrances for the Spring/Summer - DKNY Delicious Delights and they couldn't be delicious (excuse the pun) if they tried. Take for instance DKNY Delicious Delights Fruity Rooty Eau de Toilette (pink bottle( a juicy blend of blackcurrant and vanilla, or perhaps you'd prefer the delectable notes of mandarin and raspberry that can be found within DKNY Delicious Delights Dreamsicle Eau de Toilette? If neither appeals there is also the beautiful DKNY Delicious Delights Cool Swirl Eau de Toilette with fresh notes of violet and coconut. Heck you may even give in and purchase all three!
Let's forget sorbet for a moment, if that is at all possible and concentrate on more creamy notes that will still invoke that Summer and altogether carefree vibe. Think ice cream, fresh blooms and dare I say it Turkish Delight? Yes really. Fans of vanilla based scents must give Philosophy Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette a try. Best described as a light, creamy and somewhat whimsical vanilla scent that is not at all musk based, non-cloying and perfect for layering with other scents should you so wish. As close to wearable ice cream as you will find.
If Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum is a regular fixture within your fragrance wardrobe you may want to treat yourself to a bottle of the newly launched Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Toilette. It rings very true (a light, upbeat rose and amber scent) to the EDP only it is a little sweeter and far lighter, a great delicately floral Spring choice in my opinion. For those wondering yes it does remind me ever so slightly of Turkish Delight.
If ever there was a time to get on board with bright, fruity floral scents it is now! My personal favourites include the surprisingly long wearing Elie Saab Resort Eau de Toilette which reminds me of a sun soaked holiday or at the very least a trip to the beach. It is fruity yet not overly so with notes of Orange, Fig and Mandarin. Sunshine in a bottle even if you happen to be stuck in a wet, gloomy UK town!
The Harajuku Lovers fragrances are back with brand new packaging, my personal favourite has to be Harajuku Lovers Lil'Angel Eau de Toilette which is a cheery blend of lollipop accord, violet and rose. You can't help but smile when wearing this.
Lastly I have three scents which in my opinion are a little stronger and perhaps ideal for night wear? First up we have Narciso Eau De Parfum which is a soft, warm yet spice based fragrance which lingers on the skin all day long without being overpowering. Narciso Eau De Parfum contains notes of amber, white floral accords and musk. To try it is to love it.
Soon to be launched is Britney Spears Rocker Femme Fantasy Eau de Parfum which is a slightly more musk based version of the original Fantasy fragrance line. If you like the original you will love this or perhaps you found it too sweet? Again give this a go. Notes include blackberry liqueur, coconut cream, amber, cashmere, vanilla, musk. You didn't hear this from me but men seem to love Britney Spears Fantasy Eau de Parfum, if I wear it I am almost guaranteed several compliments from the opposite sex. You live and you learn.
This coming Summer I imagine I will rely on Gucci Guilty Diamond Eau de Toilette heavily for night wear as it sexy without being too obvious nor strong. It is carefree with notes mandarin, peach and black pepper. An almost fruity floral offering with added depth.
Like I said hopefully something for everyone!
