My First Givenchy Products

I'm sure most will be surprised to hear there is a good few brands within the beauty world that I have yet to discover. I have been blogging for nearly four years but every now and then brands some what fly under my radar or are simply too expensive to just splurge. One said brand is Givenchy, I have admired the brand form a far but never plucked up the courage to hone in and make a purchase. Givenchy doesn't come cheap so I wanted to make sure that anything I did decide on would be well loved and used.

My First Givenchy Products

Each cosmetic brand somewhat has a distinctive style and iconic product and in the case of Givenchy it is is all about their prism shaped powder products and of course their Phenomen'Eyes Mascara. It will come of little surprise that this is exactly what I have, a pretty neutral yet perfect for evening wear eyeshadow palette and a mascara that does somewhat look torturous. I am a little way off from writing off my full review of each product just yet but let me share my initial thoughts on each luxurious product.

Givenchy Prisme Quatuor Eyeshadow Palette in Impertinence £37 via Escentual
There are so many beautiful shade variations of the Givenchy Prisme Quatuor Eyeshadow Palette that I would be surprised if I don't add to my collection before the year is over (I mean we are only in February after all). The Givenchy packaging in general oddly reminds me of Dior cosmetics not that this is a criticism - luxe, function and from what I can so far tell robust. Let's forget all about the packaging and focus on the beautiful shades within: a metallic pewter, a metallic yet glitter based navy, a bright bronze come gold that is again metallic and a true white satin based eyeshadow to highlight. I have only applied each shade once thus far but can report they are silky soft, beautifully pigmented and very much high quality. The beauty of this little quad is that you have the perfect colour palette for a muted day look as well as the option to create a strong, smoked out evening look with next to no effort. If like myself you have blue/grey eyes you need this palette - talk about making my eyes pop. Oh mama!

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara £23 via Escentual
I have spoke time and time again about my fine, flimsy eyelashes that don't hold a curl and are easily weighed down. So far the only mascara that has really opened my eyes and somewhat curled my eyelashes without looking bizarre is Benefit Roller Lash but Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara may soon well join that list. Admittedly this mascara will take a little getting used to due to the the shape of the spoolie - a round ball in which you use vertically to tease the eyelashes upwards. It does look a little scary but trust me it is fairly easy to use and perfect for those who love lash separation. I am currently sporting it - I applied at 7am and so far, so good! No smudging, smearing or flaking. I will update in a week or so once I have fully tested it but I do think this may become a contender for my favourite mascara of the year.

In a nutshell I am kicking myself for not trying out Givenchy cosmetics sooner and will more than likely purchase a blush and an eyeshadow palette in the coming months. Do you have any recommendations?
