How To Use Lush Shampoo Bars

I have featured Lush Shampoo Bars quite a few times in the recent weeks and one thing that seems to get flagged up is that not everyone is completely aware on how to best use the bars. Let me somewhat explain...

How To Use Lush Shampoo Bars

First of all I do rather enjoy the concept of Lush Solid Shampoo and Conditioner Bars for that matter. They are compact, well priced and as they are solid you have zero mess until they become wet. If you have ever had a leaky bottle of shampoo in your suitcase I'm sure you will understand my pain - while we are on the topic of travel the Shampoo Bars are ideal as they are not weighty nor will they take up much space in your case.

To use you have two options: you can simply wet the bar, rub between your hands and apply as you would a liquid hair product , this is my preferred method. The other option should you find it easier is to rub the shampoo bar straight on to the hair and scalp. I don't personally recommend doing this as the bars are fairly solid and rough to an extent and by doing so you may damage the hair. I also recommend purchasing the Lush Round Tin or any small container with a lid to keep your products dry in-between uses. After each use, I quickly rinse to remove any suds, gently pat with a towel and then allow the bar to dry out I before popping them into an air tight container for hygiene purposes.

I realise Lush don't advocate this but once I have had enough of my shampoo bar (my hair grows tired of products very quickly) for whatever reason I do use them to clean my make-up brushes. At just over £5 per bar you may even what to purchase one solely for this reason - the solid bar makes cleaning even the murkiest of brushes a breeze. I simply dampen the brush, swirl over the shampoo bar, rinse and repeat until entirely clean. There is no need to worry about damaging the brushes, I have used this method several times with just about every brush brand going and my brushes are perfectly fine.

The benefits I have so far found in switching to a solid shampoo over a liquid are that my hair tends to be more voluminous, they tend to be better at removing product build up, they are more environmentally friendly and lastly they are a dream to travel with.
