Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Black Ink

I have asked many for gel eye liner suggestions and the one that gets recommended to me over and over is Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Black. It's a classic, one of Bobbi Brown's most iconic and raved about products, one of those products everyone should own, even if you are a little late jumping on the bandwagon such as myself...

"This innovative eyeliner offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula. Long-wearing, water-resistant colour can be used to create subtle to dramatic looks. Apply with Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush. Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested."

Like most gel eye liners the packaging for the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners is on the dinky side but then again this is true for most gel liners, as long as you have a small eye liner brush (as in the brush head) you won't experience any problems. The good thing about the size is that it is easily transported as well as stored. The jar itself is glass but fairly thick, I am the clumsy person around and have not experienced any issues i.e I've dropped it several times and it hasn't as much as chipped.

Much like I had hoped this has a super creamy formula that is easy to slick on using an angled brush. I do recommend teaming with an angled eye liner brush, a brush that is firm so that you can easily draw on sharp and precise lines which is sometimes easier said than done with gel liners. The Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Black Ink colour pay off is bold and true - no grey or blue cast what so ever. Although glossy on first application once this dries down it becomes completely matte.
My go to gel liner was by Inglot but I much prefer the texture of this gel - it is soft and creamy yet not overly so, it is so easy to apply due to such texture but unlike the Inglot version it dries rather quickly on the skin. More importantly it doesn't flake or become crispy throughout the day. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners do not claim to be waterproof but I can say that you will need an oil based eye make-up remover to make it budge which in my experience is a sign of a liner that will withstand more than a few tears and the odd rain shower. As for the long wearing aspect, you couldn't ask for more with at least 10 hours of continuous wear with no fading, smudging or smearing even on oily lids.

No Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner is not the most affordable gel liner out there but like so many before me have stated it is one of the best.
