Over the festive break I ran out of my beloved Origins Clear Improvement Face Mask, with no intentions of heading into the bustling city centre to re-stock or anything similar at the moment within my skin care stash I made do what with I could find at the Supermarket. I purchased Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask. My mind set was that, it costs less than £5 so therefore if it doesn't work I haven't lost all that much. I needn't worry, it has been one of my better budget finds.
Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask is a creamy textured multi-use product, it can be used daily to cleanse the skin or occasionally (it is suggested once a week) as a t-zone face mask. Personally I wouldn't use Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask as a daily face wash as I fear it could be a little drying and harsh even on oily skin with prolonged use, then again it does contain Salicylic Acid (renowned for its exfoliating properties) so I could be completely wrong!
As you have most likely guessed I have only used this as a facial mask and have been nothing but impressed with the results. I would liken the Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask to a clay mask when used in such manner. It applies somewhat creamy and dries out, drawing out impurities and excess oil from the skin as it does so. From the first use my skin not only felt deeply cleansed but my pores also appeared to be smaller thanks to such deep cleanse. When used as a mask Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask helps to provide oil control. My typically oily areas were left temporarily balanced for around 10 hours without drying out my complexion. Sadly although this is aimed at clearing blackheads I can not say that I have noticed any difference, I am prone to blackheads thanks to my very oily skin and this has did next to nothing to resolve such problem. In fairness other than ripping out blackheads with pore strips I can't really think off hand many skin care products which do effectively remove such problem.
All in all Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 Wash and Mask is a great, budget find especially if you have a oily/combination skin type - it deeply cleanses and balances the skin. I would avoid if you have drier skin type.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now too.. I love putting it on for 5 minutes whilst having a shower, it leaves my face so soft! However, I have a few spots since using it, but this is more likely to be my skin as I've been using Clean & Clear for years! x

I may have to try this out for my blackheads. I have only tried two products from this brand; one was a citrus gel cleanser that made my skin feel parched and broke me out in hives after the first use, the other one is their Persa-Gel Acne Cream, which I love and would recommend to ANYONE. Its gentle enough on the skin that, yes, I would go as far as that lol. It seriously saved my skin. May have to put this on my shopping list! Thanks for the review! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I'd love to try this! Clean & Clear products have impressed me in the past but somehow I always forget about them. Great review; lovely pictures too! N x

First of all, love the new blog layout, very clean and minimalistic. I used Clean&Clear when I was a teenager but has stopped for so many years. Great review and definitely makes me want to give this a try.

Clean and clear is one of those love/hate relationships when it comes to skincare. I love their blackhead cleanser but their deep cleaning astringent gave me an allergic reaction :( I definitely keep an eye out for it next time I go shopping though!
