New Blistex Happy Lips Lip Balms

With so many of us being Blistex fans (I am never without a tube of Blistex Relief Cream) I thought it was only fair that I shared the two newest additions just a little ahead of launch. On the 26th of January two new lip balms from Blistex will launch - Blistex Happy Lips! If you are a fan of fruity and fun lip products this could be just what you have been waiting for...

As with most budget and seemingly fruity lip balms (think Maybelline Baby Lips et al) the packaging is fairly basic, a little cheap in appearance/feel but at the same time fairly fun with bright plastic, adorned with little lip prints. I think a combination of the eye catching casing and the fruity scents is what will lure most of us - I mean who can resist a Strawberry and/or Mango lip balm? Not me anyway. I will be entirely honest in saying that the Blistex Happy Lips in Simply Sensational Strawberry is very sweet and a little chemical based but nothing too strong or off putting. My personal favourite has to be the altogether more tropical Blistex Happy Lips in Mouth Watering Mango which is lighter in fragrance and more true to scent with the actual fruit.

The new Blistex lip balms do contain petroleum so they aren't going to heal chapped lips rather at the very most they lightly hydrate the lips. Think in the vain of Maybelline Baby Lips et al and you will have the general idea. I will state that I do find the Blistex version a lot lighter, less waxy and easier to apply than the Maybelline version. No they won't be replacing my usual go to lip balms but they are fun none the less.

The Blistex Happy Lips lip balms will be launching on the 26th of January and costing £2.49 each.
The strawberry version is exclusive to Boots, Mango can be found in both Boots and Tesco.
