Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

After a few months of testing I am back to share my thoughts on Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. Spoiler, it has not become a somewhat cult product for no reason and yes I do happen to rather like it as does my skin.

"Lightweight cleansing balm quickly dissolves stubborn eye and face make-ups, including those with sunscreen. Transforms from a solid balm to a silky, fluid oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. For all skin types."

The good news is that unlike the majority of other cleansing balms, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is unscented, perfect if you have sensitised skin as it will not irritate. It is also great if you simply don't like scented products. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm really is a gentle cleanser yet  completely effective; it removes all traces of my make-up with ease, leaves my skin feeling both soft and hydrated which isn't all that easy in the Winter. I also rather enjoy the fact that it is safe to use on the eye area and removes mascara without the need to pull or tug on such a delicate area. On the skin Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm does turn into a light silky oil, that it is easily removed which isn't always the case with balm/oil cleansers in my opinion. I do recommend being pretty vigilant when it comes to the removal stage as with any balm it could lead to blackheads/blocked pores if all traces are not washed away. If you have dry skin or want something a little more nourishing for the Winter months I would deem Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm to be a great purchase - gentle on the skin, deeply cleansing and oddly hydrating. I'd say this is suitable for all skin types and ages.

The one thing I don't enjoy about The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is the really firm texture. I have no idea if this is true to every pot of such product or I have been unlucky. All I know is that it is quite difficult to scoop up the product. I find due to the texture I sometimes chip off (for lack of a better term) more product than I actually need and you know me I hate waste! In terms of consistency this is very similar to The Body Shop's Chamomile Balm Cleanser, on the plus side it is far less greasier and so far has been kinder on my skin. Texture woes aside I do rather enjoy using this cleanser and would happily recommend it to all, especially those who gravitate towards balm formulations.
