I like to pile on mascara, spider lashes? Sure why not. The bigger the better I say but with that arises the problem of taking of said product along with a smudge of eyeliner and of course my attempts at eyeshadow blending. As it has been said many times before the skin around the eye area is incredible delicate, so you really should use a product that essentially melts off any eye make-up to prevent unnecessary tugging and pulling of the area. In my opinion easier said than done. Lots of eye make-up removers especially those aimed at waterproof make-up tend to be oil based, greasy and generally unpleasant to use. Couple that with sensitive eyes and really you have quite the problem on your hands. Enter Vichy Purete Thermale Eye Make-Up Remover Waterproof.
Is it the cheapest out there? In a word no but the huge 150ml bottle will last you several months not to mention you really only need the smallest amount to remove even the most stubborn mascara! Vichy Purete Thermale Eye Make-Up Remover Waterproof is a dual phase make-up remover, meaning it is oil based but surprisingly light weight and not at all greasy. The remover quickly melts of mascara (yes all four coats in my case) without stinging or encouraging my eyelashes to fall out. Funnily enough this is Vichy's first waterproof eye make-up remover that limits eyelash loss as well as protecting the eyes' sensitive skin. It is enriched with Arginine, which stimulates the arrival of nutrients in the bulb and repairs damaged fibre within the lashes and also contains Taurine, which protects the follicle from attacks that could slow down fibre growth. Pretty cool non? Especially if like myself you find stray eyelashes every time you remove your eye make-up. As with all Vichy products this is Hypoallergenic (safe for contact lens wearers too) and is formulated with Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as an eye makeup remover. Very interesting

This looks great - I don't have an exclusive eye make-up remover so I may get this.

I don't know why I can't get on with this brand, I like that it isn't greasy despite being oil based. Great Review

I really should be using eye make up remover, I usually just use wipes but this is probably a lot better for my eyes and skin!

I was a little scared when you said oil based, but at least it doesn't leave a gross residue. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲
ReplyDeleteI always try and look for an eye make up remover that doesn't hurt my eyes, but haven't found one as yet. Except for the cleansing balm by The Body Shop, it melts away all of my eye make up without stinging my eyes x

To be honest, £11 isn't a bad price for that size bottle, I would happily pay that, and especially because I know the other Vichy skincare products I have work really well and have lasted a while. Great review! And I will be having a look out for this. x
