Vanilla based fragrances are two a penny and it has gotten to the point where I find most are to alike to discern, well not Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Ambre Vanille - this fruity yet mellow blend is instantly recognisable and entirely different to any other vanilla based scent I own. Yes it is sweet (I have been dubbing it a grown up cupcake scent) but once settled on the skin it somewhat morphs into a creamy, rich yet fruity scent. Trying really is believing with this one. Although not an eau de parfume the wear time on my skin is fairly impressive, I find that I can apply this in the morning and come the evening it is still lightly noticeable on my wrists etc.
Notes include tangerine, orchid, heliotrope, almond, brown sugar, coconut and sandalwood - along with vanilla and amber of course! In my opinion you can instantly detect the vanilla and brown sugar which as mentioned is sweet and somewhat creamy. Once the dry down has occurred it is all about the coconut and tangerine. Oddly it is like having the best notes of the festive season combined with the summer. Odd but it works. If you are familiar with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess then this is one to check out, they are somewhat similar only Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Ambre Vanille is far more vanilla and coconut based. If you are jetting off for some Winter sun this is the fragrance I fully recommend.
Add Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Ambre Vanille to your Christmas list, I promise you won't regret it - if anything you'll blame me for all the sweet treats you consume while wearing it ha!
