New Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows

You go into town for something as mundane as toothpaste and come home with make-up, make-up that you had no intention of purchasing and truth be told don't really need. Tell me that sounds familiar? Well a trip to Superdrug for toothpaste and a few other boring necessities resulted in me perusing the Maybelline stand and snapping up two new gel infused eyeshadows. If you like silky soft, smooth and metallic shades make the Maybelline stand your next port of call as the new Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows are something else!

Oddly the line of Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows come in two different styles of packaging but the formulas feel exactly the same? Bizarre! It seems to go by shade - I am sure there is some official reason that I have overlooked but at the end of the day they cost the same and perform in the same way. Like I said bizarre. In all honesty I prefer the cheaper looking black and transparent style as the shadows are more protected - the silver casing may look pretty but my eyeshadow had wiggled loose before I even got it home. Not cool and far from ideal if travelling.

Due to the different styles of packaging it is rather difficult to gauge online just how many shades of the new Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows there is - I counted ten in my local Superdrug but in all fairness it is a pretty small store. Boots online list 11 shades so lets go with that shall we? In the end I settled on the shades 23 Copper Fizz a light, warm toned pink gold that is not worlds apart from the hard to source in the UK - L'Oreal Color Infalliable Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. In fact on my eye lids they look pretty much identical and the formulations aren't all that dissimilar either. I also purchased 34 Lustrous Beige which is a light, yellow based ivory that works best as a highlight. In fact I have been using this on my cheekbones rather than on my eyelids as the shade and effect is so similar to MAC In Extra Dimension MSF in Superb which is a firm favourite of mine.

The best way to describe the new Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows is to compare them to pressed versions of the L'Oreal Colour Infalliable Eyeshadows. To the touch they have a gel like consistency which not only means they glide on to the skin with such ease but the gel bonds to the skin resulting in a longer wear time. I do still recommend a primer if like myself you have oily lids or find eyeshadow easily creases but it is certainly not needed to boost pigmentation. They Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows blend out seamlessly, offering great colour pay off and have a cooling effect on the eyelids which is an experience all on its own. I truly have no complaints about the formula or shade range and would say for a mere £4.99 an eyeshadow it would be an injustice not to own at least one.

At the moment Boots seems to be your best bet with all 11 shades in stock and a current 3 for 2 on Maybelline. The Maybelline Color Show Eyeshadows cost £4.99 each and you can find them here - link.
