Barry M have launched two new mascara's as part if their Showgirl Mascara range and for the first time ever I am a fan! They not only look but feel premium and yet only cost £4.99 each. If this is a taste of things to come from Barry M then I am one happy bunny indeed.
So yes two new formulations each of which is marked by the colour of the mascara tubes, one is extra lengthening (the silver tube) and the other is volumising (the pink tube). Oddly the mascaras are rather weighty and feel like a YSL Mascara rather than a Barry M offering. Each wand is also different with the lengthening mascara having a plastic comb like want to really grip on to the eyelashes and coat each evenly. The volumising mascara has a large, natural fibre brush head which gently coats the eyelashes and encourages them to not only look thicker but to also curl too.
In the past Barry M is not a brand that I would scour the stand for in the look out for a mascara but I do have to say the formulation has surprised me. A blacker than black, thick creamy formula that is neither too wet nor dry which is the case for both mascaras. Neither is prone to smudging or flaking nor do they feel heavy on the lashes or clump easily. They aren't waterproof so they are easy enough to remove and don't irritate my eyes throughout course of wear. I do have to be honest in saying that I feel like that the mascara formula is the same for each mascara only with different wands? I personally like Barry M Showgirl Extra Lengthening Mascara as the mascara spoolie really combs the lashes and as the bristles are so tiny it grips on to the smallest of lashes ensuring a wide eye effect. It won't quite give the false lash effect but it does somewhat give the effect of longer eyelashes. The Barry M Showgirl Extra Volumising Mascara is lost on my small eyes as the wand is too large - I end up getting it everywhere which really is not the look I was hoping to achieve!

The packaging looks fantastic. To be honest, I think I am slowly becoming a makeup collector. When I find products that look good on the outside I really tend to just buy without considering the quality of the product itself. Thanks again for introducing me to something new ^_^

That packaging is adorable! I've never heard of this brand before, so I don't think we have their products in the US. Bummer, I'd love to try them!

Oooh, these might well be worth a try - nice review! In fairness, the font on the packaging alone would be enough to tempt me into buying, haha!
