Monthly Beauty Favourites July 2014

Do you ever have months in which you don't have many products that you love or even use?
Then the next month rolls around and you love everything...like a make-up hussy?
July was that month for me, I have so many favourites to share that I'm almost embarrassed.
If you make it through this full post and don't just scroll to look at the photos I commend you - have a pat on the back pal!

Skin Care
Another month, another nod to Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Defense SPF45, I'm scared to death of ageing prematurely and without fail I apply this light, liquid SPF daily. I like that it has a slight tint so if I am only popping to the shops it brightens my skin while protecting. I kid you not when I say that this is the lightest SPF I own, once applied you can not feel it on the skin and it does not compromise any make-up applied on top. Easily the best facial SPF I own, I do also apply it to my hands, neck and chest so I go through this pretty quickly. Hey I figure 65 year old Adrienne will thank me? You can find it via Debenhams - link.

July was the month I discovered Indeed Labs Hydraluron and man am I hooked. I wrote it off when it first launched deciding my oily skin had no need for it but now that I have tried it not a day has passed this past four weeks without a daily application.  Basically there is lots of science behind this clear jelly which I will talk about in a later post but essentially it helps your skin retain moisture. Perfect for dried out skin, especially now the majority of us are sun seeking. I also find it cools and calms my skin. You can find it via Boots on a offer (save £8) - link.

Lastly I have rediscovered Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel, I love how simple this is to use. As the product title suggests it pretty much melts off all make-up (even eye make-up), grime and everything else while being kind and gentle to the skin. As it is a gel, it feels light and refreshing on skin making it perfect for balmy Summer weather. You can find it here on offer (save £4) via Escentual - link.

Make-Up
I have been pretty devoted to Clarins True Radiance Foundation all month long, I can't begin to tell you how many compliments this foundation has garnered. It feels like every second person wants to know what I have on my face in terms of base and where they can get it? Well the answer is Clarins True Radiance Foundation - a light, glowy base that offers medium coverage but is utterly buildable and looks really natural on the skin. It wears so well - with a primer and a little powder even on the warmest day it stays put for at least 9 hours, keeping in mind I am the oiliest skinned creature on this planet. Basically you need to try this out! You can find it on offer via Escentual (save £5.90) - link.

I feel a little bad for including Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso as it is so difficult to come by here in the UK but it is the blush I have been reaching for more often than not. A light shimmering pink toned peach that adds radiance to the skin without looking over the top and cancels out the need for a separate highlighting product. It honestly is the most gorgeous blush, I wish Milani was stocked in the UK. You can find it on Amazon for just over £9 (inc p&p) which isn't too bad - link.

Two lip products that have been rolling around in the bottom of my bag are NARS Isola Bella Satin Lip Pencil which is a great everyday nude come peach shade that doesn't wash me out. I like that because it is a pencil it is easy to apply on the go and allows me to line and fill my lips in one quick step. As it is satin rather than matte it doesn't look as flat on the lips and isn't drying. You can find it here via Space.NK - link. Having said that I do love a good matte lip and spurred on by all the recent obsessions with 90's matte brown lips *cough* Kylie Jenner *cough* I set out to find my perfect shade. Enter Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Nude-ist. This is a completely matte liquid lipstick that wears beautifully - you can eat and drink all night long and this will stay in place. Although slightly more pink toned than your typical brown nude I find this has a slightly 90's vibe without looking too try hard. Easily my most worn lipstick of this month. You can find it here - link.

Misc
On my nails I have been wearing a whole lot of Chanel Frenzy Nail Lacquer, it is one of the few nude nail polishes that doesn't leave my hands looking bizarre and makes me feel lady like (ha!). I do wish Chanel polishes weren't so pricey and so prone to chipping if I am being entirely honest. You can find it here via Debenhams - link.

I have slowly weaned myself off of leave in conditioner, I feel it was doing more harm than good but more on that later. My hair is pretty unruly so I do need something to help de-tangle, enter Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer. This quick and easy to use mist contains lots of hair oils to nourish and restore the hair, de-tangle as well as protecting against UV rays and heat. To try it is to be converted. You can find it here - link.

Lastly I have to share my love for Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche once more. Annoyingly I feel it is time I retire this scent for the year, Summer in Glasgow is all but over, my bottle is nearly drained. I'm one of those people that have fragrances for certain times of the year and Bronze Goddess is my warm weather scent - I feel if I wear it in the cooler weather it will lose what makes it special? Does that make sense? Probably not! Anyway if you do fancy a bottle you can find it here via Debenhams - link.
