Malin + Goetz Dark Rum Candle

Malin + Goetz Dark Rum Candle

One of my favourite scents ever has to be Malin + Goetz Dark Rum.
Perhaps when you think of dark rum you may have connotations of it being dark, sticky and perhaps masculine? Yeah I did too! It is in fact light yet sexy, warm yet fresh and unlike anything I have ever encountered and I'm forever sprtizing new scents on in the beauty halls.

The thing with Malin + Goetz Dark Rum is that you will find it really difficult to decide what it reminds you of the most. At times I liken it to smelling very similar to clean cotton then at other times I could swear I detect leather. Really odd! On the site the notes are listed being: top notes of bergamot and plum, middle notes of rum and leather, and base notes of amber-patchouli and vanilla. A rich composition yet it is never overpowering, one of the odd few fragrances that will appeal to both men and women. I also like that it doesn't seem seasonal - some scents you know instantly that they will be better suited to the summer, winter or so on but this is more of an all round feel good fragrance.

This is actually my first Malin + Goetz Dark Rum candle and although the more dinkier votive size it does still pack a punch - even without it being lit you can smell it in a room (I should point out my bedroom also falls into the dinky category). It goes without saying that this is a particularly intense candle were scent throw is involved, I lit it last night and as I'm sat typing up this post I can still smell it. If that is what the votive can do, can you imagine what the full size would be like? Woah mama. I believe this is down to the fact that all Malin and Goetz candles contain 16% of eau de toilette. I should also point out that this features only natural beeswax, vegetable and soy waxes, which offers a cleaner burn but is far better for our lungs too.

Annoyingly I can not find the Malin + Goetz Dark Rum Votive online here in the UK
but you can buy it full size via Space.NK - link.
