Every now and then I lose all leave of my senses and find myself leaving the likes of Space.NK with more items than I planned. These things happen, well so I tell myself anyway, anything that helps you to sleep at night eh? Before I bore you with self justification let me share what I purchased...
Two new NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils make their way into my stash, oddly I settled on two red hues: Red Square and Cruella. I have been dabbling with the idea of going back to brunette and just think dark hair with bright red lips is so striking! Even if I do stay blonde the two matte reds seem to be rather flattering and I rather enjoy that I can line and fill my lips in one quick step with this pencil design. Obviously a full review of each shade will follow but so far I can say that if you enjoy orange reds you may want to add Red Square to your lipstick collection, I'm not fully swayed by Red Square just yet. While we are on the topic of NARS I decided to try out there eyebrow pencil - NARS Brow Perfector in Salzbourg which might just be the lightest brow pencil I own. At the moment I am a little worried it is too light which is a first. I do however like the texture, a waxy, easy to blend formulation that stays put. The jury is still out on wither or not I like the shade however! You can find it here for £16.50 - link.
I have actually owned By Terry Touche Veloutee before but the shade was slightly off but the texture was divine hence why it is a re-purchase. I love the huge, brush applicator and the fact that the formula is light but offers enough coverage to hide dark circles as well as brightening. In a word? Love. In case you didn't know the founder of By Terry actually formulated the now cult YSL Touche Eclat. You learn something new everyday. You can find the By Terry Touche Veloutee for £35 here - link.
Lastly I bought two Hourglass lip products, first up we have Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas which I have had my eye on for quite some time now but never got round to purchasing for one reason or another. It is a great everyday pink toned nude that is the defintion of matte. I have a soft spot for this formulation but do wish they weren't so pricey, probably for the best or I'd end up having them all. You can find it here for £23 - link.
I also walked away with Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude 2 which is a fairly light nude but I rather like it. It glides on to the lips with ease, feels somewhat like a balm but wears a little longer. Much like my NARS purchases I like the style of the crayon as I can apply it on the go with ease, more so than the red hues. Being a nude it goes with just about anything, would I purchase another shade from the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo line? Probably not truth be told but hey ho you live and learn. Find it here for £22 - link.
