Weekly Favourites #39

Here in Scotland it feels like the Summer has finally arrived so it only makes sense that my make-up bag reflects such weather. Let me share what I have been reaching for this past week...

Believe it or not I have been ditching heavy foundation in favour of concealer, for blemishes I have been relying on Maybelline Better Skin Concealer which reminds me a lot of MAC's Pro Wear Concealer only a whole lot cheaper. I like that once it sets it doesn't budge, it feels lightweight on the skin and the shade 02 is the perfect match for my skin tone. The best part is that Maybelline Better Skin Concealer only costs £5.99 via Boots - link.

For my undereyes which are looking a little worse for wear I have been more often than not slicking on Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream which again is light weight, comfortable to wear, doesn't crease and is budget friendly. I like that it conceals all signs of redness (due to my constant rubbing) as well as dark circles. At £7.99 - link, I highly recommend giving it a go this Summer!

The two lipsticks I currently have on rotation are oddly not nude toned at all. I have been giving MAC M'Orange Lipstick a lot of love (mainly because I have rekindled my love for self tanner...whoops). This bright and almost neon orange is simply amazing, it demands attention and as it is so bright I don't have to apply much make-up else wear. Lazy gal bonus points right there. When coated in self tanner I love to slick on this shocking orange with a little mascara and bronzer - bish, bash, bosh job done. I can imagine this being my go to shade this Summer. You can find it here for £15 here - link. If you like the idea of bright lips but want something a little more muted may I recommend YSL Rouge Volupte in shade 32 Corail Jalouse which is a light, bright pink based coral. The creamy formula wears so well and is the perfect shade for day wear. You can find it here via Selfridges - link.

My current blush of choice has to be MAC Gingerly Sheertone Blush which is one of those shades that is so easy to bypass in the store yet looks wonderful on so many skin tones. I would describe it as a warm, red toned brown that oddly adds a sun kissed glow once applied. As it is a sheer blush it works with your natural skin tone rather than against it. If I was to pack one blush for a sun drenched fortnight it would be this, it also compliments a bright lip rather well as well as looking great with a classic nude. If you buy one MAC blush let it be this! You can find it via Debenhams for £18 - link.

I have been heavily relying on my Ray-Ban 3025 Aviator sunglasses as the glare from the sun often gives me headaches. I really like that the frames are larger than normal aviators so more of my eyes and face are protected and let's face it the style is timeless. These live in my handbag and have been on my face daily, I highly recommend the style which you can find here - link.

Lastly we have Lush Eau Roma Toner Water, yes it is a toner and yes I have spoken about it several times but it has been a complete godsend. It cools, calms and tones my skin in one quick step as well as hydrating. If you are on the look out for a good toning come cooling mist this Summer this one gets my seal of approval.
