I have tried quite a few pieces of Lush Make Up line, I have my firm favourites (hello Lush Feeling Younger Skin Tint) but every now and then I feel brave and come home with a bright shade. I have no idea why Lush Control Liquid Eyeliner ended up in my clutches but I am rather smitten with my recent purchase. A bright blue eye liner? Yes really!
Isn't the packaging of Lush's Liquid Eyeliner's cute and quirky? The packaging of the the entire range has a slight art school vibe - when I first saw it I was instantly transported back to my Art student days and all the bright bottles of ink I used to purchase. The lid gives the impression of a dropper style applicator inside but in the case of the liquid eye liner it is actually a small but perfectly formed fine brush that allows you to create both thick and fine lines with ease as well as being able to get right into the lash line. The brush works really well with the product the only niggle is that the dropper style handle is a little fiddly and heavy for drawing perfect lines and flicks on the eye to begin with but as with everything practise makes perfect...or so I have been told! If you are off to a festival and want something that you will use all year round but still fun to "paint" your face I would recommend the Lush liquid eye liners as the fine brush would allow you to easily draw intricate designs on your face and body.
As you may or may not be aware the entire Lush Make Up line is based on colour therapy i.e we naturally gravitate towards certain hues depending on your mood. For instance if you are feeling down you find yourself leaning towards bright oranges and yellows to uplift. I don't know all the in's and outs but it is a very interesting concept. Recently I have been feeling a little lost, I'm not sure what I want to do and yeah just generally a little down so it is pretty apt that I picked up the shade Control "take it", it is open to interpretation but yeah apt. Lush Control is a bright yet inky blue, almost navy but a smidgen bolder. It oddly looks fairly natural and is a great way to wear colour on your eyes without being too out there. I don't have anything like it in terms of shade but do keep in mind I seldom purchase liquid liner.
Much like the liquid lipsticks (if you like matte lipsticks that do not budge this is a line you really need to explore) within the Lush make-up range the formula of the Lush Liquid Liners are really well formulated, they have a great consistency not to thick yet not too thin, apply well and dry fairly quickly. It is insane how many great ingredients this little liquid contains: rose petals and cupuacu butter to nourish and moisturiser as wall as almond oil and jojoba oil. When dry it settles to a high metallic finish with a slight sheen finish, that is comfortable to wear, did not irritate my sensitive eyes nor did it flake or smear.
In terms of wear this lasted over 9 hours on my oily lids (with a primer) and only budged when I
removed it by hand...pretty impressive!
