EOS Lemon Drop Lip Balm with SPF15

Myself and EOS lip balms haven't always got along, up until recently my lips reacted to something within the ingredient line up but I have to say so far so good with the EOS Lemon Drop Lip Balm. This is just as well as the sunny weather is going to call for a lip balm with SPF...

To the credit of EOS (Evolution of Smooth) their lip balms are 100% natural and 95% Organic (free from Paraben,Petrolatum, and Phthalates) which is impressive feat no matter how you look at it and something I feel more brands should aim to be. Like many lip balm collectives there is several flavours and types to choose from including pure moisture, medicated and a version with an SPF15 each of which are packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil to help keep the lips hydrated, soft and of course smooth - which I entirely agree to be true in this instance with Lemon Drop! In my opinion the EOS formula is a little drier than some other lip balms I have used in the past and as a result is not one you can really layer on without it caking on the lips. It can tug a little which may not be ideal for cracked or chapped lips, for every day moisture yes but I would perhaps look for something softer in texture come the winter months.

As mentioned I have been trailing the EOS Lip Balm in Lemon Drop which in my opinion smells exactly like the hard boiled sweets of the same name - sweet, sugary and zesty. Scent and super cute packaging aside (doesn't it look like a ping pong ball?) it really is important that we try and seek out a lip balm with an SPF. Why? Well the difference between your lips and the rest of your skin (body and face) is that the lips don't have melanin. Melanin is of course the body's natural way of protecting your skin from ultraviolet rays and as the lips lack it they run a higher risk of becoming sunburned. Ouch! The way I look at it EOS Lemon Drop Lip Balm with SPF15 is the way to go, it smells great, is a good size to pop in a bag, it protects, soothes and hydrates and of course has an added SPF. What more could you need from a summer lip balm?

In the UK EOS Lemon Drop Lip Balm with SPF15 and EOS products in general are tricky to source
luckily you can find the entire lip balm range via Cult Beauty here for £5.99 each.
