Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer

This little pot of pigmented wonder has sat on my dresser since December and basically spent up until now figuring out the best way to put it to use. Yes Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer is a fickle being but once you master how to make the product work best for you there really is no going back.

Like most I had seen several reviews of Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer on blogs, shout outs to it on Youtube and even mentions from make-up artists but I over looked it as something I didn't really need. One day on a whim I decided to order it via Space.NK and was utterly shocked by how tiny the pot was, I mean it is seriously dinky and yet three months on with continuous use I have yet to put a dent in mine. When they say a little goes a long way with Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer they really weren't kidding!

So what is Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer? In my opinion the hardest working base product you will ever come across, it can be used alone as a foundation, as a concealer, mixed in with a moisturiser to create a tinted moisturiser, added to a foundation for more coverage...the list goes on. Basically you don't know what full coverage is until you encounter first hand Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer. The colour range is pretty vast with 16 shades that I know of, I have SX08 which is best suited to those with strong yellow undertones. I currently wear an NC35 in MAC foundation and find it to be a good match.

Truthfully I find it to be a little too heavy to be used alone as a foundation - sure it can be done, the key is less is more, buff, buff, buff then buff some more and you will have a flawless finish. Yet should you be heavy handed you will create a cakey finish. Fact. Delicate is not my name nor my game so as a stand alone foundation it didn't work out for me but as a concealer for those pesky cystic blemishes it can not be beaten. Nothing and I mean nothing covers them quite so well. Personally I don't recommend it for use on the under eyes unless mixing in the smallest amount with your regular concealer to up the coverage stakes as used alone it will crease. Speaking of creating a custom blend do you have a moisturiser that you adore but doesn't come in a tinted formulation? No problem a quick blob of this mixed with your moisturiser and you have the benefits of both products in one.  From my experience the best way to apply Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer regardless of how you have decided to use it is with a dense brush, the thick texture lends itself well to buffing. I did try and use it with both a sponge and my fingertips and found the outcome to be a little heavy, a damp beauty blender is a great way to sheer it out but I did find myself going back over my face with a brush. As you can imagine on the skin this isn't exactly weightless but it doesn't feel heavy nor does it clog my pores. With a primer and powder combo, regardless of how I mix it I typically achieve 8 hours of oil free wear.
