Current Go to Hair Styling Heroes

Have I mentioned before that I have unruly hair?
Oh I have...well guess what I'm saying it again and thanks to Glasgow currently establishing itself as the new windy city I need all the help I can get just to drag a brush through my hair let alone style it. Like all with troublesome tresses I do have a few products at hand that I favour.

I think we can all admit to owning at least one bottle of John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum in our time?
I no longer depend upon serums but do have a penchant for hair oil and the new John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir is right up my street. Basically as with all hair oils and serums for that matter a little goes a long way, one pump of product is more than enough for my long but thick hair. You apply to the ends of the hair - wet or dry and style as normal. In my opinion it works best on damp hair, particularly if using before blow drying straight. This way you get soft, sleek hair that is frizz free and actually some what conditioned thanks to the combination of heat and Argan oil. If you ave dry, frizzy hair I can't recommend this enough. Find John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir via Boots - link.

While we are on the topic of heat styling I happen to own a great heat defence product that not only smells amazing (nothing worse than a foul scented hair product) but adds volume to the hair as well as offering heat defence and colour fade technology. Say hello to V05's Cherish My Colour Full Bodied Spray, this leave in product not only prevents your hair from frying under the stress of heat but if used on the roots with a round brush while drying you will have volume at the crown which lasts all day. It is no sticky, weightless, smells rather sweet and girlie and the best part is that it costs a mere £3.89. Find it here - link.

The way I see it if the weather is less than savoury, why fight it? Embrace the current windy situation (that sounds like I'm describing flatulence ha!) and go for oodles of volume in the hair. I know I do. In my opinion Bumble and Bumble do the best weightless volumising products, if my hair is freshly washed I tend to reach for Bumble and Bumble's Dryspun Finish Spray (find it here via Space.NK - link) as it works rather well with already fluffy hair. I mist all over the roots, tip my hair upside down and basically rustle my fingers all over my scalp. My hair texture lends itself really well to products of this type but it is a thickening product so if you have fine hair this will undoubtedly work better for you than say dry shampoo. If dry shampoo is your calling then I fully recommend Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder (find it here - linkis a hybird product - a 3-in-1 if you will, not only does it add volume and texture to the roots but it refreshes the hair like a dry shampoo and can be used root to tip for extra grip i.e for those with fine hair that find it difficult to braid. To use you simply dust on the powder on to your roots and add the desired volume using massaging motions with your finger tips. Easy peasy.
