Monthly Favourites

Little known fact I loathe the month February, first of all I struggle to spell it and secondly I'm forever broke during those quick passing four weeks of the month. Hurrah to March I say and hopefully with it will come some Spring sunshine. A girl can dream. Here is what I have been enjoying for the last few weeks...

As you may know I'm a huge fan of Thierry Mugler's signature Alien fragrance but sometimes find it a little heavy for day wear. Luckily a few days ago Thierry Mugler Alien Eau Extraordinare Eau de Toliette laucnhed and couldn't be more perfect for those who enjoy the original version but want something a little lighter and fresher. It of course borrows notes from the original but is much more delicate and fresh and has been created to convey a message of joy and happiness, charged with positive energy - perfect for what has become a long energy zapping winter. I highly recommend checking it out if you are a Thierry Mugler fan. Find it via Debenhams - link.

As I am day dreaming of the Spring I have been craving a lighter dewy finish from my foundations and have found the new Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Boosters to be the ideal solution. I tend to mix a small amount in with my foundation to somewhat reduce the coverage level and add a shot of luminosity to boot. However you can also use them as a primer or as a liquid highlighter. If you find some highlighting products to be too harsh (read glittery) in finish this is one to investigate - it offers a soft focus, lit within glow which in my opinion is underrated. You can find the entire range via John Lewis for £26 each - link.

Some things never change and as I have ran out of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (my all time favourite) I have been reaching for MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer which I do also hold in esteem. It covers my horrid under eye circles without creasing or oxidising throughout the day and photographs beautifully. My only gripe is that silly pump - I swear I have wasted more product due to this than I have used! Find it via Debenhams for £15.50 - link. My other eye make up choice would have to be Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara - a duo ended mascara for both set of lashes. Although the top lash mascara is decent enough (a little prone to smudging but that could be my oily skin) the bottom lash mascara has me hooked. A nifty little wand that really separates and catches ever little eyelash for a wide eye look. I now understand why everyone raves about the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara and may be tempted to purchase a tube. Find the Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara via Boots for £8.99 - link.

For my lips I have been on a nude kick - one matte, one glossy but both beautiful. If you have yet to try out the new Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms I highly recommend you do. Although more of a satin finish opposed to matte they are highly pigmented, non-drying and generally just a joy to wear. I'm rather enamoured by the shade Complex - a honey come nude hue. You can find them via Boots - link. Although they have yet to be officially launched (they are in my local Boots) the new L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks are something else - okay they remind me of the YSL Glossy Stains but much more pigmented. A really hydrating glossy finish lipstick that slicks on like a gloss but feels like a balm. Winner! My favourite shade is the slightly pink toned Nude Ballet which is perfect for everyday wear.

If you buy any polish this month let it be Cheeky Chat Me Up Nail Paint in Ice Ice Baby - the most perfect baby blue shade that will see you through into Spring with ease, not to mention the formula is wonderful, Two quick coats and you are good to go!

What have you been enjoying?
