Illamasqua I'm the One Collection

Who doesn't love a good red lip or nail product for that matter?
With Valentines Day just around the corner Illamasqua will be launching their I'm the One
collection very soon which is an all red collection featuring three permanent products and one new gloss.

First up we have what is probably a classic shade for most, Illamasqua Throb which is a bright true classic red. Without a word of a lie Illamasqua polishes are one of the best formulas out there - they are almost gel like in that they wear really well and apply like a dream. I kid you not when I say two quick coats of this thick yet quick drying formula will last you a good week in terms of wear without the need for a top coat or base coat for that matter. At £14.50 they aren't cheap but I urge you to pick up at least one of Illamasqua's nail varnishes in your life time (my favourite without a doubt has to be Jo'Mina).

Now onto the lip products, lets begin with the lipstick which I will contest to being a little drying on the lips but what matte lipstick isn't? The shade for the I'm the One collection is Maneater which is a bright almost cherry red and reminds me of the classic red hues many starlets of the likes of the 40's/50's would sport. It is very sexy and perfect for a night out be it Valentines Day or not. The bonus of this being a matte shade is the wear time is exceptional with around 4 hours of even wear before it fades to a bright red stain and of course the pigmentation is out of this world. With the texture being some what dry it does cling to the lips so you don't have to worry about it bleeding or feathering. You may want to team this lipstick with a balm or gloss to prevent your lips from drying out as a heads up.

If you are looking for a great and classic red lip liner then look no further than Illamasqua's Colouring Pencil in Feisty. Not only is it the perfect partner to Illamasqua's Maneater lipstick but pretty much 90% of all red lipsticks. The formula of the colouring pencils are soft and creamy but firm enough to hold their shape and allow you to draw fine and precise lines. Truth be told I prefer this as an over red colour on my lips than the above lipstick as it is slightly more comfortable and far less drying. At £14 the Illamasqua Colouring Pencils aren't cheap but in my humble opinion as the formula is long wearing and as you can wear them as a typical liner or an all over lip colour you certainly get your money's worth.

Lastly we have a new addition to the Intense Lipgloss range which is of course red and named Touch. If like myself you like a red lip but perhaps something a little more muted then this is the route to go down. That is not to say Touch is lacking in pigmentation because it is not but it is more subtle than Maneater or Feisty for that matter. Touch is a slightly darker than cherry red gloss base with oodles of teeny tiny red glitter particles but still a classic in the making. I'm not one for glitter based products but as the glitter is microscopic it is very refined and gives the impression of fuller and plumper lips. I believe this shade has been created to compliment the above red lip products as well as being equally as striking on its own. I won't lie, this is a gloss and as a result it is a little sticky but truly moisturising - you win some, you loose some.
