Nicole Richie Met Gala Polishes

I know it will raise some eyebrows but I have always adored Nicole Richie as a pre-teen watching the simply life I used to beg for brightly coloured velour Juicy Couture tracksuits. Then I became a teenager and Nicole went through a somewhat troubled phase and became worryingly thin while rocking a boho style which I emulated best I could. The boho style not the crash diet...I'm from Mediterranean stock why fight the carbs has always been our motto. Now as a mother of two I defy anyone to say she is not beautifully polished which leads me on to her nails.

At the Met Gala Nicole Richie was spotted with almost art deco style talons which most likely have been inspired by this years launch of the Great Gatsby (Leo Dicaprio...swoon) and were created using two Eve Snow polishes - which have newly launched at Space.NK. The two shades she (or her manicurist) used were Prima Donna which is a cool toned rose gold. This is honestly one of the most beautiful metallic/foil type polishes I have used in a long while. On the nails it looks like liquid gold and is a dream to apply, two coats and it is opaque not to mention it dries really quickly. I wish I could say the same for the deep shade - Harlot, it applied a little streaky, too much longer to dry and required three coats. However if you are a patient person (i'm not) it is worth the wait as it is a beautiful deep plum hue that is super glossy and chic.

To recreate Nicole Richie's roaring twenties manicure I suggest applying two coats of Prima Donna then once dry draw on your heart shape. I personal found it easiest to do by creating two curves, almost in the shape of the letter "m", allowing to dry and then going over with a second coat - third if necessary. It is a simple nail art effect to try at home that looks great with next to no effort!
